He already knows what they do on the dyno compared to others. He wouldn't make it part of any test without Vararam's permission as he stated before.

No you couldn't order them yet. My opinion of that intake still hasn't changed. Excellent Intake

I have a CAI intake...very happy with it...but look at the test results and make your decision off of what you think looks the best and fits your budget...any of the top names seem to perform very close to each other

I don't know what the timing was with the Vararam but it is irrelevant. There was an open invitation to be included but my understanding is that there were several intakes that were not included because the manufacturers were not interested or refused to take part. Ted only tested what he had manufacturer approval to test. There is plenty of data out there to be able to estimate how the Vararam and others would have stacked up though.

The point I was making was although the intake wasn't part of the test Ted has done cars with the Vararam intake on it.

I never cared what the dyno showed. All the data you need is in the 1/4 times and the Vararam has performed quite well.

The problem I see here is that there were MULTIPLE revisions of the VR unit. Do you have version 1, 2, 3, etc. Each version had a couple different tweaks so who knows what version each of you is talking about.

Bottom line is, VR had a retail version on the market and they refused the invitation to join in the test. Take it for what it's worth but there were MANY people very discouraged that they did that.

Hey, here is some info that affects dyno numbers and IMO you should go with the CAI intake that you feel is best. Every car is a little different and everyone's geographical location is different there for there are several factors that can affect the horsepower values as measured by K&N or at any other dyno facility. Some of these factors are:

The tension of the tie-down straps
The air pressure of the driving wheels tires
The atmospheric conditions (the dyno incorporates a correction factor for varying conditions and so do late model vehicles)

Make sure it is a apple to apple comparison

I love my Yellowjacket. I've had it for about a year and a half and still wouldn't trade it for anything currently on the market today.

Seeing that you're new here and have no idea how the jannetty test was performed, I can ASSURE YOU that none of your "factors" played any favorites.

Get a C.a.I. If you want it to perform on a dyno. Get a vararam if you want it to perform at the track. I'm not so sure I'd let the fate of my product lay in the hands of one shops dyno testing either. Let's see some track times.

Axis.. Just because I'm new does not mean that I'm stupid... But I suppose that you can ASSURE ME the Jannetty tests were were run in the exact same conditions must mean that you were there a witnessed them all.. The one thing that stays the same on here is the fact the dicks like you have to put other people down...

To the OP, there is a lot of "passion" here for this CAI vs that CAI. My suggestion is that you research this sub-forum as there is a ton of info, and opinions in here. My opinion would be to choose what you think works best for you. There are many good ones to choose from. Find it and enjoy it.

I have the Vararam, but I'm not going to try and pursuade you to get one too. Pick the one that has the looks, features and sound that you want.

It was dicks like me and about half the other dicks on this site that watched it LIVE FEED. Doubting someone that was actually here when BOTH his test took place does make you STUPID. And yes it was all done on the same day with the car strapped to the dyno the entire time.

Where the helll did I put you down? All I said was that your factors played no favorites. TRUST ME, if I put you down, you'll know it. Sheesh, now that schools out, the kids get touchy.
