GMS for departing contestants to go with that voucher.
Beats saving boxtops.

Cyber Grey/Gray 2SS, manual, RS pack w/the see-through sliding roof.
Silver stripes.
Love the Midnight-finish on those wheels.
For me the Boston Acoustics is an unknown quality but I'm willing to gamble.

I'm new on this forum and this'll make Camaro number 3 but without a doubt the best.
Had an '02 Firehawk once.
The 2SS should adequately assuage the guilt I've carried lo' these years since I 'traitored' her in.

I know the perfect spot to test the acceleration.
That'll be coming in June.

The best to all on this site.

My comments were directed at the mentality at the dealer level. When they have 15-30 camaros on the lot, they will do what they do for every car on the lot and start giving them away.

There is a large group pre ordering but eventually production will exceed demand and my guess it will happen in under a year.

The bottom line is simple though. Who cares what you pay for it if you really like it. We are talking about a few hundred dollars, not 3-4000, at least not for the better part of a year.

I doubt that we would pay more, it would be great to get a discount though
I haven't signed a purchase agreement and that is the only way you can be locked in to a price. When the order is ready for delivery my dealer will call, I sign the purchase agreement, I make my downpayment and get financed. I wont pay any more then MSRP and I will get any price drops and incentives available at that time ! Only in Canada?

Also, I don't think the car will be discounted soon. The deal I might be looking for in a couple years is a good finance rate.
Well that being said, I ain't one of those upset buyers down the road, I know what was up when I pre-ordered. Still, the Camaro is wickedly priced for what we get.

We're good.

I've run the gauntlet blanket-e-Mailing dealerships within a 50 radius.(half-circle actually)
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly are all out there. Many seem to be trying to pay for their boats during the months of April, May and June.
When I take flawless delivery I'll report back as to the quality of the experience and 'fess up as to where I bought it. So far it's been good three weeks-in.

Some dealers are corrupting the euphoria surrounding the launch of the 2010 Camaro.

Some of the options (RS [$1,200], Ground effects [$2,265] and particularly those high priced wheels options [$4,600- $4,800]) are pretty expensive IMO. A base V-6 Camaro with no options is pretty cheap and a good deal, but people like to load 'em up! And that's where a lot of the money is made and where discounts should be available at some point. I don't see GM lowering MSRP, but the DEALER is the one who decides whether to mark up the car over MSRP or to discount it.

When I was shopping for my '08 Z06, it was astounding the difference in price between dealers. The rip-off dealer nearest me had a one marked up 10K over sticker, but I bought one elsewhere for a $ 6,500 discount off MSRP- and if I had waited another 6 months, I could have done better. When the Z-06 was new in 2006, everybody was marking them up over MSRP like they are doing with the ZR-1 now.

Supply and demand- no way to predict. But usually the ones who buy the first of any new model pay more than those who wait. I'll wait a little bit- at least long enough to test drive one.

Yeah the base Camaro is quite a deal. It's too bad they try to cut its nuts off by making so many of the options n/a unless you get the LT or above, but I guess that is standard fare. But yeah, if you manage to get a base Camaro at say $500+ invoice? Wow you are still getting a 300hp+ car that gets almost 30 mpg (on regular gas), does 0-60 in about 6 seconds and will still beat about 90% of the vehicles on the road in a race at the light, esp. those annoying ricers...all for just under $22K (isn't that about the price of the 'average' car these days, anyways?). Honestly part of me is more impressed by the technical achievement of the V6 and the amazing price/performance than I am by the V8 (for the record though, I still caved and changed my order to an SS), considering you get about 76% of the performance with only 58% of the displacement. I guess the downside is if everyone else realizes this, I will hardly have the only Camaro cruising the roads of Orland Park in short order :-x I wish the V8 had a few more apparent exterior alterations to set it apart from the V6s
