The show sucked! They had a decent selection of camaros (no ZL1) but their selection of corvettes was terrible! They had a ZR1 that was locked and a grand sport vert. There were plenty of cruz's, sonics and pick ups though. I had to laugh when I told the sales guy their color pallet needed to be improved. He told me to just have the car repainted. Oh yeah, pay 40 grand for a car and have it repainted. He also said the ZL1 price would range from 50 grand to 110 grand. Depending on what was ordered. 110 Gs?? Thats when I walked away from him.

We are back from our road trip to Vegas. 5 1/2 hour drive with Friday afternoon traffic to Vegas, 3 1/2 hour ride back from Vegas without traffic. We had a great time and got to see the Carbon Flash ZL1 in person. We met John Fitzpatrick there and took a ton of pictures which I will post when I get home on Wed. We talked to 'Chad' Chevy rep. for two hours and he was incredibly patient. An interesting note is that the Carbon Flash ZL1 for the Barrett-Jackson auction is really the Victory Red ZL1 that was introduced in Chicago. They wrapped it in Carbon Flash for the auction to represent the real Carbon Flash ZL1 that will be built for Rick Hendrick during the regular production ZL1 run next year. The other red ZL1 is up north somewhere and that is why neither ZL1 is at the Orange County Auto Show. Everyone that said that this car needs to be seen in person was 100% right. This car looks great and sounds wicked. I was not allowed to sit in the car but they did let me take pictures of the interior and the engine. The Carbon Flash with the red engine compartment really looks sharp. I know, this thread is worthless without pictures, but I have a few more days with my daughter before I fly home and I will post them then. I pumped John Fitzpatrick with a hundred questions but all he said was "soon". He is a tough nut to crack but I hope we will some answers before ordering starts the end of October. We stayed and watched the sale at auction which was pretty neat too. I was going to bid $50,000 but it blew past that mark before I could get my hand up. After that it was up to the deep pockets to buy the car. Overall it was a great day and the car will be more than I ever hoped for. Thanks Team Chevy for making a great car and giving my daughter and I day that we will not forget.

Glade to hear you and your daughter had a great time.
I watch the auction when I got home from the OC show and noticed the
red on the inside of the hood and engine compartment too.
So the car was wrapped in vinyl? wow looked good on the tv.

I went to see the OC show yesterday. Chevy had a huge area but not many cars for the size of the area and only a couple of reps. It worked out great for me because I got a chance to compare the Crystal Red to the Victory Red at the Chevy display. At the Cadillac display, I was able to compare the Crystal Red with both polished wheels and black wheels side by side, which helped make my decision. It also gave me a chance to sit on the Caddy suede insert seats and feel the suede steering wheel and suede manual gear shift knob. Thanks Fiascoes, you helped make this a great trip !!!

Can you share what you decided?
In my case I decided to stick with IOM as when I seen the crystal red on the ZO6.. but IOM is just more "me" than the CRT is.
Crystal Red is a cool looking color though.

I will post some pictures after I get them downloaded but in the mean time, I am going to go with the Crystal Red Tint as my first choice. The metallic makes the car look 'richer/deeper'. I then choose the polished wheels with the CRT paint over the black wheels. This is more of personal choice but I thought the brighter wheels made the paint stand out more. The easy choice was the suede inserts, steering wheel and gear shifter. Simply a much nicer, softer, grippier feel on your hands and butt. I promise to post pics later.

I think I'm going with that same combination, Crystal Red Tintcoat with the polished ZL1 wheels. I hope that CRT is available when ZL1 production starts.

I'm looking forward to seeing your photos of the CRT vehicles.
