Thanks man. I appreciate the response. My car is bone stock as well (engine performance-wsie at least other than the turbo and catback) . Hopefully in the future I can fix that.

What boost are you running?

Can you post the graph, as I am sure the experts
On here would have some advice

Believe me my car is tuned at 6lbs, with the odd boost spike to 6.3
And the car is an animal
I run on sunoco 94 all the time
I don't have the graph yet but will soon.

My car has 8 pounds of boost, but made between 503-511. I only run 91 though. California is amazing like that , impossible to find over 91 octane and smog laws suck.

You got that right! Cats blow monkey shit. I have a 3 inch catback but with restrictive mufflers (flowmasters). However, there isn't much to be gained by taking off the mufflers anyhow, so these cats are robbing me big time. Unfortunately, in California it's illegal to remove the cats or even have hi-flow cats, so I'm screwed. What a damn bummer.

Im actually at 8 pounds of boost.

The tuner and shop did a great job and talked with Turbonetics to ensure everything was spot on. I'm not dissapointed at the shop or tuner. However, I'm unbelievably dissapointed in the car and it's ability to produce that power at 8 pounds of boost. It is what it is.

You better get some aftermarket cats or aftermarket mid-pipes. I have seen the cats come apart and take out the turbo just like the STS kits if you run the turbo behind the cats.

Haha, I thought about a cat delete, but I'm trying to stay as CARB legal as possible. California is a true pain in the arse with smog.

I don't drive the car hard at all, as it my daily driver currently, but I do have fun with it from time to time. I'm hoping the tuner takes that into account. He's a good guy, so I hope he'll push it as far as possibly safely. I'll post up what the car makes when I find out! Lets hope I'm not disappointed with the numbers.
I know how you feel cause mine is a daily driver as well. I wanted something that was completely safe and nothing aggressive. At my power level the tuner assured me that it is safe and not pushing it. So it is possible to have 550-600 rwhp and be completely safe. Cause I dont have the money to fix a blown motor lol.

Yeah, that good to know because I don't want to forge it anytime soon either. Now I just need my car to actually make that power somehow.

You would only change the springs if you were seeking more boost.

I would rather you change the springs than use a manual boost controller although they do work.

The right springs is always the best route.

Catch cans are good you can't go wrong keeping oil out of the intake tracks.

Ted.

Thanks Ted

I have an AEM TRU BOOST gauge

it is set for 6lbs, sometimes i get a spike of 6.3 or 6.4 lbs

i dont fool around with the boost gauge, i never really adjust!

so i should still ask Turbonetics for the 7 lb springs

As I said the Spring for the boost you want to run will always be more consistant.

The Tru boost can be adjusted via the gate pressure for spikes though.

Yeah, as Ted said, the wastegate springs are the way to go to make the psi you want. Then, use the Tru-boost to add additional boost if you need to. The Tru-boost tutorial on YouTube made by AEM is fantastic. Definitelyyyyy watch videos 1-4 regarding use of the AEM Tru-boost controller. Search "AEM Tru-boost" on YouTube and you can find there tutorial very easily Bob. You'll love watching it. You can adjust the gate pressure to eliminate boost spikes and maximize turbo spool time. It's an incredible little machine for such littl cost.
