I am not flip flopping, I want a ZL1 that is obvious, but I guess I'm dissapointed in the whole program. I don't understand the split allocation date. If you have a number for each country for allocations, why wait till the US orders are in to give Canadian allocation unless the purpose is favoratism.

For the number of Canadians buying, which I'm sure isn't a lot. it seems they should give us allocations at the same time.

Anyway.. there's nothing I can do about it I just wanted to spout off and have a little tantrum....
Perhaps they put all the options on a wall & let a monkey choose by throwing a dart. Perhaps there is a more rational explanation. Regardless of the reasoning (or lack thereof) ... it is what it is. I suppose you could directly ask both General Motors Company and GM Canada about why the difference exists. Or even our resident Chevrolet Customer Service rep (http://www.camaro5.com/forums/member.php?u=29125). No guarantees you'll get a satisfying answer, but its worth a shot.

Just because a dealer enters an order does NOT mean it will be built, regardless...there's gotta be "room at the inn" before your "reservation" can be filled...

Canada consumes well less than 10% of NAFTA GM production...and well less than 5% of Camaro production... Do the math, when allocations DO materialize...

For instance: When Gen-4 F-cars arrived, Fall of '92, there were ZERO allocations for the entire '93 Model Year unless you were a dealer in a major metropolitan market area (100,000+), with mighty few exceptions.

It's very difficult to participate, fully, in "Earned Share" when there's no allocations delivered to let you "earn" that "share"...

Exactly. So I don't see how anyone in Canada will be able to put an order in tomorrow if there are no allocations for Canada. I guess if it will accept it you could, but it will just sit there till after the orders are processed for allocated dealers from the U.S

I learned from my dealer this afternoon that our ZL1 set up is a little different up here. I guess generally speaking most sold customer orders will be processed regardless of allocation up to a point, and other than sold orders will be allocated.

Hi 2012ZL1, you are correct. The GM where I deal said the same thing. If they have a retail "sold" unit they will get one. The allocation system is just a projected inventory control based on past/projected sales. A

I'm not sure how this will pan out. I bought my convertible in the 1st week of June, and it was an American car as not many allocations were given to our dealers at that time. Now given the convertible wasn't a "limited" build, I see a long wait in Canada to get one. I of course am to the understanding that the '12 ZL1 is limited production????
I am waiting for the '13 convertible to order, but at the end of the day, considering what I paid for my US car, I would be better off to throw a Blower and suspension upgrades into mine and have less $ tied up in the car.
I just have a feeling this will be a pricey car.
