I love the interior on the 370z a lot better, but the Camaro, overall, is my pick. And I have heard bad things about the quality of Nissans. Not sure I would want that kind of trouble when spending over 42k.
370z won't have tech option or any frills like that, only performance upgrades.

If you want to use 13.3 on the Nissan, use 12.8 on the SS.

the first season of speeds "bull run" showed that while the nissan was pretty agile, it finished in the lower ranks most of the time even with upgraded speed parts.

i know it was just a tv show but if we are talking speed and handling dollars being spent, i want power, reliability, and drivability for a price that will not break my bank account.

IDk its pretty close in acceleration and it has much superior handling and roadhoalding. I think as far as performance goes the nism 370z has the camaro ss beat. I'm not saying I like it better but, It seems to greatly outperform the camaro.

Wow some of the stuff in here is soooooo wrong. The 370z biggest negative against the SS IS THE LACK OF TORQUE. sorry had caps on LOL. The 370z fully loaded is 40000 not 42000. The nismo probably won't have the navigation etc so I will say 40000ish. Regular 0-60 is 4.7 1/4 mile 13.3. The nismo can easily do 4.4/.5 and 12.8/13 1/4. If you step outside the kool aid you will see the Z is an amazing car/compertitor

its camaro v8 power for me. i've lived in japan and driven a lot of their cars but reliable drivable power can only be had in a v8. i want low end grunt now not at high revs and who can argue with that v8 sound track.

Camaro for me!!

Can someone please explain why you think its getting much better straight line acceleration vs the regular 370? Yes it has more power, but also more weight and practically no more torque. The extra engine performance is almost all at the top end. Good for a road course, doesn't mean much at the strip. I am not a drag racer, but I have never heard of 20 hp improving things by half a second or more. In the Camaro, 26 hp and 50 lbs less weight is only good for 0.3s.

And look at the mph difference, the camaro is at 110-111, the z is at what, 103? The camaro is pulling away very fast with much steeper gearing. IMO you can't just look at ET because driveability and useable power shows up in the mph. The z is geared very aggressively to achieve those numbers, the camaro is barely trying...I don't think there is much excitement with the z below about 5000 rpm, peak hp numbers are only for advertising.

Without a doubt. The torque is the deal!! Like I said above the lack of torque is it's biggest downfall and it seems with the vq the higher the hp the lower the torque. Unlike the chevy smallblock v8 where torque is almost always even to HP

Torque is good, not to mention the sound of a V8. Plus, do you really want a car named NISMO?
I think the 370 looks like some kind of robot bug.

To the 370Z's credit, its been running 13.3 -13.6 @ 104-107 mph (on average - based on several different mags).

Compare that with 13.0 @ 110- 111 mph for the SS.
As we know the SS should be running in the high 12s with a 111mph trap speed.

And as you mentioned, as the speeds increase (80+mph), the SS's advantage will also increase. A 370z will get owned badly trying to keep up with an SS on the highway.
