Mine is a daily driver. Currently in Pennsylvania for work, but live in Atlanta. Will likely be moving to Pennsylvania. I've put 3k on my ride in six weeks or so, mostly highway driving including the 800+ miles to get here and a trip to NC to visit family.
Mine is Carbon Flash Black. The metallic flecks hide a bit of the dust and dirt, luckily. I have been washing/waxing her every other weekend. I bought her to enjoy the long drives I will be doing between here and home. |

Mine is my daily driver. Purchased in June with 60 miles, it just turned 11,000 and is a GREAT DD. So much fun to drive and no real issues.

Mine is daily driver as well. I purchased mine October 4th 2011 and just turned over 2000 miles today. I agree with others that a car this special is never meant to be caged up. One of the things I look forward to each day is getting to drive my ride.

Mine's a daily driver too, luckily though I live in FL and don't have to deal with the snow. I've got 13,000 miles on her now and it's my pride and joy (but like someone else mentioned it's also helpful that I'm a bachelor!
)She definitely has paint chips on the front which always makes me a little sad, not to mention the little dent where someone backed into me in a parking lot...but when I'm running home from the school and all the papers I have to grade, it's nice to know my SS can get me there a little quicker lol

When I first bought mine in July the plan was for it to not be a daily driver but I figured I didn't buy it for it to sit in the garage all the time
I recently even had 20" snow tires put on it for winter driving here in Colorado and had a clear bra put on it to help protect against rock chips.

why would someone choose not to use the car as a daily driver? exceptions being if you turn it into race-only mode or there is a lot of snow and you have a truck you can use instead.
i live in a mild climate and the only time i would consider taking another car out is if the parking is crap where i'm going or the part of town is crap and burglary is more likely. as for paint chips...i'm getting my clear bra installed literally as we speak

Mines a DD too. Loving the AFM as it gives me the piece of mind of saving gas. Just crazy how a few days after you wash her she starts getting dirty again.

Mine is a daily driver, also. Fortunately, my commute is only 10 miles each way. But, it is pretty nasty traffic, stop & go almost the whole way.

Mine isnt a 5th gen, but its definitely a DD, 14 years old (214,000 miles) with original paint on over half the car (from getting new hood and bumper) and the original paint still shines with no real scratches and 1 small dent that actually happened in the past couple months.
I just take really good care of it, and no one ever believes its 14 years old. If anything, get a lot of use out of it, if in 5 years u have rock ships and some bumper rash or permanent bugs, get it resprayed or get a new bumper. Gotta drive it as much as possible, I couldnt live like you northerners where you park it for winter! |

Absent bad weather, my RS 2SS is my daily driver as well. 20,000 miles on the clock. I commute from suburban Maryland into D.C. -- a lot of stop-and-go, but the shifting doesn't bother me a bit. I drive 52 miles round-trip, and on weekends I often take my wife and two kids to our vacation house in the Camaro, about 175 miles each way.
I have a funny story -- yesterday my wife was going in for some pretty major hand surgery under general anesthesia. I knew she would be groggy afterwards, and suggested that we take either my Escalade or her Explorer, so she would have more room to relax and recline afterwards, on the way home. She said that she would rather take the Camaro, as she finds it the most comforable to ride in. After the surgery, an orderly brought her down in a wheelchair to the Camaro, which was parked in the parking garage underneath the building. When he saw the Camaro, he just fawned over it forever, saying how much he wants one, and leaving my poor wife waiting in the wheel chair, half awake and groggy from the anesthesia. On the way home, I stopped at a pharamacy to fill her pain meds prescription, and she just slept in the Camaro, with her seat back reclined and a blanket on her. When I came outside, people were looking into the car at her, as if I had a dead body with me. Long-winded way of saying -- great commuter car.....and makes a decent ambulance as well. |

I found a local car wash that hand washes. I pay $60 a month for 4 washes anythime. I take it every weekend to get the road and bugs off. I drive around 90 miles a day on the highway and she's still looking good at 32K miles.
