I agree with Scott... get the color for YOU... not anyone else. Not everyone is going to like your color choice, but guess what? You're the one driving a Camaro... where is theirs?! Oh, that's right... THEY DON'T HAVE ONE...

That being said... I'd say you should pick your favorite color. I do agree (as I've stated many times here) that silver is kind of "plain" and blends in... BUT... the SIM with Black rally stripes looks damnnnn good! I think that is the perfect accent for that color, and also lets it stand out a bit.

But if you're looking to "stand out" I'd go with something that really pops. Yellow is always an eye-catcher, but personally I don't like how it looks up close... it's just too flat. Same goes with Victory Red. Both of these colors will grab attention, but they don't have the luster and shimmer of the metallic colors.

IOM and ABM are two that seem to get a lot of attention due to their multi-personality disorder (). Both look great from afar, grab your attention, and then look even better up close when you see the metallic flakes. They also change shade in different lighting conditions. Of course, I'm personally biased toward ABM, but only because blue has always been my favorite color (see???), and I've never really liked orange on anything. But I must admit... IOM with CGM rally stripes looks gooood...

I haven't seen RJT in person, but I do agree that it looks like more of an "old-person" color that belongs on a luxury sedan. Case in point: when I showed my family the paint samples, my dad's favorite was RJT, haha. But I also agree that it doesn't have the "bad-ass" factor to it. I do think it's a really nice-looking paint, but it's just not for me. But as someone said earlier... NO ONE is going to dog you for it if you choose it... I mean... it's a CAMARO

Black, of course, is the ultimate bad-ass color. It just looks so mean and awesome... I love it. But I do feel that it hides the lines of the car somewhat. Plus, my past 2 cars have been black, and let me tell you... black looks AMAZING when it's freshly washed and shining... but it doesn't last long. You'll see every bit of dirt/dust/raindrops... everything. So keep that in mind also.

So, looking back... my post is actually not very helpful at all, lol... I guess I'm basically saying that there is no "wrong" color. I've always hated red, yellow, silver, and gray cars... always. But every time I see the new Camaro, no matter what color it is, my jaw drops. They all look incredible! So choose what you want, and don't listen to anyone else!

Just sending a little bit of "enthusiasm" your way!!!!!!!!!!!

dect, you may have ordered SIM, but you already said that RJT was amazing and you say it looks a little old, but think of it this way. Who else your age is gonna be daring enough to get the "old-man color"? This would make you an EPIC stand out...............a one-of-a-kind.

P.S. Are you old enough to drive yet?
naaahhh... My ex girlfriend was a redhead WOW!!
anyway I digress... she looked horrible in a red car, or a red dress... emerald green or any green on the other hand AMAZING!! She had green eyes too. Blues looked nice, and any earth tone color. She looked really nice in the ba... uh in my electric green Rustang... LOL

to the OP if you go with RJT I wouldn't do any stripes, it's too regal looking to be striped up... IMO.

From someone who has been around a few car lots in his day, I can say that the RJT is a badd ass color. This is a take off from a very popular muscle car color from the late 60's and early 70's. Maybe that is why you seem to think that the color is old, since those of us that came up through the true muscle era of autodom remember how that color looks on true muscle cars.

This color shows details very well and is easy to keep clean and look clean. The luster is amazing and it changes personality with the light. Remember that until now this color was only on sedans because that is all that is out there. There are very few true muscle cars on the road any more.

As far as what others may say, LOL just ignore it. I have found that the more people rag you for what you have the deeper the resentment and jealousy because they don't have or cannot have what you do. If you ignore it, it will go away. They are looking for and expect a reaction, usually negative. If they don't get it, the fun is gone and they will stop.

Get the car that seems right for you no matter what. DO not worry about anyone but your own personal desires or opinions. Do not base your judgement on a purchase of a car worried about high school peers. This car will be in your life long after they are gone, unless you get rid of it.

I personally went with the RJT, white Rallies and gray interior. Love the color and contrast of the RJT/White combo. Went gray on the interior because it will not show dirt near as much as the tan and not near as hot as the black.

In the end, the decision is yours, and you must live with the result. GO with what you want, not what others may say.

You only have one shot at life, might at well make it a bullseye. Don't let anyone else alter your aim!!!!

California Style? As in it is a California Special? with the GT/CS on the stripe on the side? If so, unless he has done some performance mods... um, no worries... How can I say this? well, I have a 2008 Candy Apple Red one. My dad bought it before he passed away and I inherited it so I don't want to say its like a crappy car or anything... Because it isn't... Far from it actually... It LOOKS good(hood scoop, side scoops, ground effects on front and rear fascia), it SOUNDS great, but honestly I cant imagine it being a "threat" to a Camaro (performance wise, if that is what you are concerned about... maybe you are just concerned with styling?). It might be a good challenge for it against a V6 Camaro... but crap man... if your V6 gives his V8 a good run, that is making a statement of it's own. I have not had the pleasure of driving a new Camaro yet, but if its anything like the 2002 Trans Am Ws6 that shares the garage with the Mustang (heh, its a miracle those two havent burnt my garage down yet being so close), then the performance will definately lean towards the Camaro's favor.

Just my .02

I just missed you today, me and Cyberbro where at the show between 5-7PM. You had just left Anthony and his wife over by the Camaro's when we got there. I will be there on Wednesday between 2 and 5PM......will you be around??

And for the original poster: I went through this exact same question about my SIlver order. All I can say is, you are way wrong about the attention, and silver is the ONLY color that shows the bosy lines the way it does. It makes the whole car look better, that is why GM chose to use it for all the brochures. The body lines (especially the "shoulders" of the rear quarters) pop like no other. The Orange is ok and the red are ok, but the body lines get completely absorbed by the color. Trust me, when you take it to car meets and see all the colors together, you WILL NOT regret the Silver.

Take it from someone who had almost the exact same choice to make 2 years ago when I bought my SKY and I never regreted it. It may seem "boring" to some, but it is a classic color and it it is easy to introduce an accent color of your choice! Good Luck!

Dude, if you really like the IOM, go for it! There used to be a time when the first thing that crossed a guys mind when he saw an orange car on the road, was POWER.

I'd go black with the IOM strips. Not too flashy, but definitely stands
out in the crowd.

As with any car, you'll need to keep it clean and maintain it.
Black will just remind you when it is time for a wash sooner than the
other colors.

IOM is not fruity at all. Then again, I'm the one having the hard time deciding between IOM and Aqua Blue, which a lot of people seem to think is "girly". Obviously, I don't give a damn what people think.

Not too many girls are going to be driving this car, it's more of a "man's" car if you will, lol. No offense to the girls who are getting it. So you could get this car in hot pink and it would still be a masculine, badass machine.

Go with the color you like. Always listen to your gut. If your gut feeling tells you to get orange, then go with it. You won't be happy if you pick a color just because you think others will like it more. It's your car.

IOM is an awesome looking color, and the Camaro doesn't have any colors that can be called fruity by anyone. And if it's high-school goons calling your car fruity , just remember that you're the one driving a camaro.

In my opinion because I'm having the same problem between Victory Red and Inferno Orange Metallic. I originally ordered Rally Yellow w/ Black Rally Stripes, than went to Silver Ice Metallic w/ Cyber Gray Rally Stripes, now I am at Victory Red w/ White Rally Stripes, but after seeing IOM I might order that with White or Cyber Gray Metallic Rally Stripes.

But, to answer your question, I'll give you my opinion on all the colors:

Silver Ice Metallic:

PROS - Best color, by far, to show off the lines and angles of the car, makes it look elegant and very expensive more than any other color offered on the Camaro! Safe color can't go wrong with Silver on any car.

CONS - Not going to turn heads like the other colors you have listed. May seem boring because Silver is a very bland and everyone has silver cars it seems. It also shows every dent, ding, abrasion on the vehicle. Silver not only shows the ines we want to see on a car it shows the unwanted ones just as well!

Black:

PROS - It is very bad @ss and original. A black car when clean may be the best color on any sports car or any car in general. Very masculine color!

CONS - Looks dirty after about an hour. Very easy to scratch. Hard to keep it clean whether it is a weekend warrior or dare I say your everyday whip! Who doesn't own a black sports car?

Red Jewel Metallic

PROS - Makes the car look expensive and elegant. Different and won't be many of them.

CONS - More of an "old man" / "girlie" color! Shows scratches very easily. Could get boring or unsatisfying if yuor not completely in love with it. Could make or break you at high school when guys see it in the parking lot and see a man get out. Most likely break you at your age!

Inferno Orange Metallic:

PROS - Very cool and bad @ss color! Good with stripe combos. Very different and probably one of the rarer colors on the Camaro color sheet. It looks redish and orangey in different lights so you can have two colors for the price of one! Orange and Camaro have always gone together pretty nicely! Head turner, whether yuo like it or not it will turn your head. Girls like guys with bright color cars, even though guys think you want too much attention they know it is exactly what you will get, especially from girls!

CONS - Color is not for everyone. Can be too red in certain lights to be considered an orange car. Not Hugger Orange enough to make us love it more than the '07 convertible concept! While this color will certainly not break you, it might not be a color everyone falls in love with. Not as safe a color as red, which is also a head turner for sure.

So, for you considering your age. I would go with IOM or SIM.

Either will be good for you. SIM is safer, but if you risk it and get IOM the payoff can def. be more satisfying than the SIM. The SIM everyone will at least like, the IOM everyone will love or hate! Black at your age is nice and everyone loves it, but try keeping it clean. No teenager can for the most part! But, if you truly can than maybe Black is your "no-brainer." Red Jewel Metallic is nice, but very iffy for someone your age. You can get love from the ladies, but not many guys your age will love this color, trust me. Plus, it will also be a pain in the @ss to keep clean, more than you think. And, it is a color that anyone can get sick of fast!

Hope I was able to help you!

After reading your post I feel you should do a poll in your school to see what the hottest color would be. This would allow you to get what the majority wants you to have.

Afterwords you should go to the nurses office and hand over your BALLS!

Who cares what others think. What do you think. Your new CAMARO is vicious, and will beat out the mustang in your school. The question isn't color, it is MODS for you. What will you do with it to make it better than what you perceive as superior.

In all seriousness, and I am just having a little fun with you, but go get a color chart from your Chevy Dealer and look at them in all light and make a choice. Making a choice is one of our most precious rights as an American. Without making decisions worlds crumble, empires stop working, and we would rely on others to make sure we are happy. Grab you b$#@s and sound off.
