It comes with the MP3 input too... all models have that standard. The USB port is a bonus and allows you to control the device from the steering wheel controls. You can add the convenience package to the 1SS and get the USB without having the 2SS if that's all you want.

ANY mp3 player that uses headphones you just have to controll the music from the mp3 player not the car radio
