BBK CAI

I purchased the BBK CAI not only for the 13-15hp gain. It also has some nice chrome, and the sound of stabbing the gas is cool as well...not to mention is matches the color of the car!

I bought a CAI and if I had to do it all over again I would have bought the Halltech system.

Halltech has a plastic or carbon fiber tube and does not get hot like the others. They also use an inverted tip air filter that lets in more air. The box on the Halltech system sucks but its easier to change the box than to deal with the heat from the aluminum tube.

If your installing an after market air intake to increase horse power and not just for looks then you should get the washer bottle replacement and scoop.

I will say I did get the increase in horse power that CAI claims you will get and I will also add that I'm a very picky person who is hard to please when I spend my money.

While we all have preferences...the honest truth is they are like shoes. Pick the one has the appearance you like, and fits your budget the best. I could put you in 15 different Camaro's with 15 different intakes, and you would never tell the difference. On might make 3 HP more than the other, but that is also the margin of error on a dyno.

I went with a Vararam. Performs and looks great! Cold air directly into the throttle body. I had to purchase a new MAF (mass air flow sensor) because mine was one of the weak ones from factory. Sounds like a beast wide open throttle. I have heard many horror stories about blipping etc but I have no issues. Ted at JRE did my tune. My second choice would be a Rotofab though. The picture above by RocTrux looks great! I love the look of the Rotofabs. Being that I live in Houston, Tx though I wanted to the coolest air I could get and thats definately not under my hood.
