guess I'll repost this again cause it got deleted, No the camaro will not outsell the mustang, more women drive mustangs (v6), the rental services use them, any mustang owners of the new model, 2006-2009 that would want to buy the new camaro are most likely still paying off their cars, the economy is bad, and my reason, I think this is the end of the muscle cars, so I'm hanging onto what I have.

I think the Camaro will out sell both the mustang and the challenger simply for the face that the camro just has more bang for the buck!

None of those are reasons to believe the new Camaro won't outsell Mustangs.

1. Women tend to drive mustangs over a car that they can't even get yet? Uh, yeah, nothing wrong with THAT logic...

2. Avis is offering Camaros.

3. Then they won't be buying a new Mustang either, will they?

4. Same as 3.

While it could certainly happen, history is not on the side of the Camaro. Since the introduction of the fuel-injected 5.0L engine in the Mustang in 1986 through the end of Camaro production in 2002, the Camaro outsold the Mustang only 1 year in that span. (1991; 101,316 Camaro's/98,737 Mustang's)

The camaro will never outsell the mustang.

If people in other countries could get their hands on one or the other the sales numbers would be even bigger for the mustang

Do people in Europe even know what a camaro is anyway ?

sure they do, they know it as that thing that eats mustangs and doesnt require a track package to stay competitive

Mustang will sell more, they always do. Camaro will probably have more sales the first year or two, but then gradually fall off.

2012 Mustang will be sick. Can't wait.

I'm starting to get tired of the Mustang fanboys...not all of them, but some need to go.

Most of us here are respectful of your car, so try not to talk bad about ours. It results in extra work for the mods and countless posts completely unrelated to the thread.

Anyhow, I don;t think the Camaro will win in the sales figures this year since Ford will put huge $ on the hoods of the 09's to get them off the lots. I also think the 2010's will sell well.
The Camaro's will be held back simply because GM won't be able to build enough to meet actual demand.
For the actual 2010 camlendar year, I think it will be a close one between the two, but considering you get more car for your money (especially when comparing the V6's which is what makes up majority of the sales), the Camaro should edge out the mustang.

In this economy there is no way. Most of Fords customers buy F150's and Focus nowdays. In a few weeks there will be piles of Mustangs at Ford dealers just like the rest of there non moving cars.

It's a major yawn. And the paint selections suck. The interior is just too much fake plastic chrome. It's like Chrome puke.
