I use a magnet LED map light like this
http://www.sfxperformance.com/parts/RPG501001.htm what's nice is that I can stick it to a fender if I need to change a flat or whatever and they are small enough to keep in the glove box. Bright too. |

ps - i was just under the hood of my little brother's suburban yesterday & that light on the quarter panel reaches pretty freakin far!! i could've taken it around the back of the truck & had some left! it didn't make a bunch of light, but it was adequate enough to find stuff in the dark
