Its all good. That could really be something to notice. All the builds now are late 2010 and january 2011. It could be all those builds that have the bad bearings.

Mine gets lots of highway miles, but gets run pretty hard, and I use almost no oil. I'm checking the levels constantly too.

Likely carbon, common to sidi engines. The tailpipes are covered in black powder looking stuff.

How often do you change it bcperry? I find after about 5000 it is a little low.

Oil coming out of tail pipes??? WTF that seems crazy.

I changed the first time at 9,XXX, second time at 20,XXX and last time at 26,XXX.
Believe me It'll be every 5k from now on. Mine's never been visibly low on the stick, I have no way to measure when I change it really. but it doesn't seem low then. I've used mobil 1 5-30 full synthetic

Not True.
I drive mine hard, many passes at the 1/4 mile track too) and lose around 1/2 qt. per oil change. 5000 miles driven between changes.

I drive A LOT of highway miles and pretty aggressively in most cases and my oil levels have been really good. I have changed my oil about every 6,500 miles and haven't seen any issues. I checked my oil this morning and it was still full. I am about 4,500 miles into my most recent oil change.

I agree this is a very important thread for us LLT guys.

This is how your LLT pipes should look on a properly tuned 3.6L.

I haven't seen a set of pipes on ANY V6 LLT look like that except for a new ones sitting on the dealer lots.

I clean mine almost daily of the soot.

They run rich. Mine is not oil build up but instead unburnt carbon.

Not true.....my car when stock for the first 2300 miles was never even close to being that clean.

In fact I had soot built up within the first 1500 miles.
