I think I'd be doing the same thing as you are. I'd try to get the money back for the stripes. they may let you keep those on anyways. Furthermore when you feel the need to get them re-done, you simply wait until other people on this forum pop up with the stripes looking like the SEMA car with no gaps so you have proof it can be done. Then you can find someone who can install them later on just how you want them or take them to the same dealer and show them the proof in pictures..

Ocho-Cinco??? Is there a Bengals fan in the house??? WHO-DEY!!! On topic, stripes look great! I love the black hockeys on orange, with MS wheels. Sharp! I would have ordered it, but I was hoping for a different orange... Sweet ride!

How easy is it to remove the stripes if they're already on? It's too late for me to remove them from my order but I'd prefer paint. Can you easily remove them?

SEMA stripes or production stripes....if my hockey stripes have a gap like what I've continued to see on other people's cars, the dealer will be removing them and reapplying them correctly without the gap....or I'll be leaving without them.
In this day and age it is unacceptable to have gapping like this. Oh...almost forgot, the black stripes look awesome on the inferno!! (I just have to close my eyes when I get near the gap!)

The gap is there for a reason -
Many of you will own your Camaros for many years -- you do not want to have to keep replacing the stripes. Keep in mind that the gap allows the ends of the decal to seal to the finish -- if you 'butt' them together in the gap between the fender and the bumper, you will eventually have problems -- keeping in mind that the bumper expands at a different rate than the sheetmetal front fender -- further, you don't want moisture to get behind the vinyl when it's inside the gap. I suggest that you paint the stripes on if you don't like the gap! |
