Looks like a 5/4ths scale 98 Honda Accord rebadged as a Pontiac.

Now age sells cars. By chance is your name Wagoner? Maxima sells better because it is perceived by the majority of consumers to be a better car. Can Maxima get away with more because of the cars history? Of course, but Nissan worked for that recognition. Don't blame Nissan because GM can't figure out how to market a vehicle.

In good shape, that is so much more attractive than the G8 it shouldn't be legal....and I don't even particularly like Nissans!

That reasoning would work just fine, but for the fact that everybody else competing within this segment is selling more cars than GM is, and at competitive prices. Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger divide up Chrysler sales in this segment, but they still absolutely beat on the G8 in terms of sales, and do so individually, despite being noticeably older designs and not nearly as good dynamically.

So Batman, riddle me this is all due to the economy why is GM's sole offering in this segment the one scraping the bottom of the barrel?

i would like a link to sales figures, by car, for the 2008 calender year.
and i also request that you look at a 1998 honda accord.

also, if you think the Taurus name has more prestige than G8,
you need to stop hanging out in the library so much and talk to some regular people

I'm sorry, did I piss you off by pointing out minor asides like sales volume?

Here's one for you. For the 2008 calender year Pontiac says they sold 12,045 G8's. The numbers might have been higher, but the car did have a late introduction with sales not starting until sometime in March.

Comparison? In January 2008 Chrysler sold 7,750 300 sedans, or roughly sixty five percent as many sedans in one month as Pontiac sold in nearly ten months. Charger moved 7,972 units in the same month meaning that, combined, Dodge's LX cars sold more units in January 2008 than Pontiac could move G8's in nearly a year.

Nissan moved a little more than 47,000 Maxima sedands for the 2008 calender year. Again, the G8 was hurt by a short year, but you could triple G8 sales for 2008 and it still wouldn't be that close.

Really want a mind blower. Ford built and sold just under 10k GT500's in the 2008 model year. Face it, G8 is a sales turd, period.

And sales so readily support your argument. Out of the three regular people I could likely find who would recognize the name G8 two would probably be thinking of the economic summit. Regular people don't know what a G8 is and frankly they don't care, and sales figures show this in spades.

Charger and 300C are essentially the same car. It's basically like combining Firebird with Camaro.

He was pointing out that the using the excuse of a poor economy is not a really good excuse, considering the $$ GT500 sold nearly as many as the G8. Same goes with the LX cars.

I personally think the G8 should have had a different name, maybe moved over to a different manufacturer (Chevy).

No, I just think you're a retard for saying a Nissan Maxima, especially one like the piece of shit in that picture, looks better than a G8.

After that idiotic comment I could care less about argueing with you, I'd get more intelligent responses by talking to the wall.

yeah, but, he only gave the numbers for january for the LX, when the econmy was not as bad as it was the last half of the year. and should we combine the numbers for all the GM full sized cars as well? just because the charger and 300c look a alottt alike doesnt make them the same car, and shouldnt be added together for a comparison. its like adding the number of cobalts and G5s sold. since the G8 has no sister car in the US, the sister cars for it competitors shouldnt be added. they are different cars. and by comparing a month that the G8 wasnt on sale, he further tainted the comparison. if the G8 came out march 2008, then he should compare that to chargers or 300cs march-december only.

I may be mistaken but I think they have an AWD Focus in Europe, to cater toward the rally fans out there

Ya, I think so too. But that may be a relatively low powered Focus. I know they have a new 300 hp FWD Focus.

more cars from europe will make their way here as ford unifies its brand. the fiesta and transit connect are the first two, followed by the focus and possibly the new fusion/mondeo

But stock for stock, the SS will have no problems with it.

I think AWD Charger RT's will have their hands full though.

almost every lincoln has AWD as an option
