Were talking a pony car comparison. The proper comparison is the base Mustang or Base Challenger which as we know don't compare. The Hyundai isn't a pony car.

There comparing the Hyundai Genesis top model with the base model Camaro. The Genesis base model is a 2.0.

Now drop that Ford 3.5 DI twin turbo in the base model Mustang for a similar price and maybe there is something to talk about! If they do they'll be a twin turbo 3.6 Camaro for 2012 I bet.

this is a good comparison, as long as we keep subjective things like prestige and looks out of it.

How do you figure? quote from Wikipedia: "The pony car is a class of automobile launched and inspired by the Ford Mustang in 1964. so the mustang somes "close" to being a muscle car? fail.
its like saying a gallardo is exotic. or an elise isnt a light weight

I'm comparing specs, your comparing design. Specs are quantitative(easily determine a "winner" and a "loser") , designs are qualitative (based purely on subjectives). You cant compare designs. One mans' turd is another man's unicorn.

so, we are comparing the specs only? i thought we were cars...
and yes i know different people will have different styling likes and dislikes, but, it is a part of a car. thats why some will chose the geny and come the maro

All of these "it's still a Hyundai" comments are really getting old. It's 2009, not 1993, Hyundai is one of the most viable and profitable automakers in the world. The Genesis sedan won numerous awards last year and the Coupe is receiving accolades accross the board as well. The Coupe has outperformed the V6 Camaro in almost every aspect and only lost the one comparo due to the bogus "gotta have it" factor.

Bottom line is, both are great new cars and we should be celebrating them, not deriding them for no reason.

What I was saying was the mustang was closest to being a "pony" car, not a "muscle" car as the gencoupe now takes the title as the best "pony" car as the mustang has gotten bigger as is more or less a pony-muscle car, along with the camaro V6. The R/T and SS are muscle cars now...
