This is the one quote that I will remember and hold Chevrolet to when my turn comes up. This is going to be a great car that will have some fierce competition in the coming months ahead. From the early indicators we've seen, the zl1 should be a great defender.

I am looking forward to seeing more of the zl1 in all of the colors and also seeing more of its performance revealed in other published tests. This is going to be an exciting year for the ZL1.

Agreed! Sad day when Pontiac was shut down to end the possibility of the Camaro having its fun loving brother around

I still have 3 TAs in my gararge (a 69 vert, a 71 455HO coupe and a 99 Firehawk vert). Not sure I get GM deciding to axe Pontiac and keep Buick, but someone must know

Unfortunately I have to sell one of the 3 TAs to make room (and get some cash) for a 2013 ZL1 vert........so it will be the 71 Lucerne Blue beauty that has to go.

But each time I read more reviews of the ZL1, I get more and more excited and the replacing of one of my favorite Firebirds with this new beast, won't be quite as bad and I am pumped for this summer to arrive!!!!

Thanks for the review Fbodfather and to your extended Camaro design/sales team for building this monster and I look forward to more impressions of the black beauty soon

Great story! Thanks for sharing! I cannot wait until I get behind the wheel of my ZL1 and stories like this make the wait even more unbearable!

Pontiac fan myself, I bought my 98 TA new and still own it. I love the early second gen TA's and would sell the 69 vert first if I were you.

I've got just 6K miles on my 2002 Collector's Edition TA -- not a whole lot of horsepower, but as TA sightings grow rarer post-extinction, it certainly gets the looks.

I always thought the new Camaro was a looker, but now that the ZL1 is reborn, I'm excited to move from observer to owner I'm sure my TA will be more than happy to share her garage with the ZL1

Great story Fbodfather!! Thanks for stoking the muscle car fire in our hearts.

Do tell on the frat you are referring to! Kappa Sigma by any chance?

I, too have to find it a space in my garage. Everything in there now is sentimental. Something is going to have to go outside under a nice California Ultraweave.... but it won't be the Z. Heck no. That will be kept at room temp, spoiled rotten. I was wondering about buying some race ramps (dolly's to set each corner on that allows one to be moved easily in any direction).... and another set of race ramps to slide under the facia to reach the front tires to life it off ground. After my talk with my local dealer, I am about convinced to take it to them for everything. Hate to do it, but with all the technical MRC, PTM, Coolers, 6 piston brakes, etc..... I just don't thing a small savings will be worth the local fix it shop............ even for an oil change.

Black on black on black is one of my favorite color combos! My 01 SS (AKA VADER) was given that treatment. Glad your having fun with the Zl1 Scott, I can't wait to get behind the wheel of mine.

p.s. these stories aren't helping me control my urge for Ultra Grin!!
