Transmission reflashes are even easier to perform then ECU flashes. Firmer, faster, more consistant shifts. Means more consistant E.T.'s when bracket racing. In fact the only reason to go to a manual now a days is to live out a Mark Donahue trans am fantasy.

And liquidfire clutches have slip as well.
clutches are not supposed to slip, and if they do its nowhere near the amount of a torque converter, especially if you swap in a higher stall converter

Clutches are supposed to have slip otherwise people would be grenading their transmissions.

Now if you want to talk about racing clutches you better have the strength to back up the instant engagement of the disc.

And torque converters slip because they rely on hydralic friction as opposed to mechanical grip, but I fail to see why that makes a difference when the transmission is banging through the gears for you. Theoretically working in the optimal gear available to it based on engine and vehicle speed. The only reason some one wouldn't respect the auto is because it's down a few horsepower, which is borderline retarded since it's just as quick as the manual and has better fuel milage.

They won't be hating on it once the auto guys get higher stall torque converters. I think autos are better for drag racing, easier to launch, consistent and not as harsh on the rear end. I think the average person will run quicker in an auto vs stick in any car. It's hard to launch sticks, especially with 20's in the rear. You need to shift at precisely the right rpm for each gear change. And usually you need to power shift to get faster times (which is not good on the trannie despite what people say). The only issue you may have is that you want a turbo or supercharger. Usually manuals can take more power/torque before they have to be beefed up, many cars can add forced induction while keeping the manual trannie stock. Not the case with autos. Not sure how the new 6 speed auto is holding up to lots of power, guess we should ask the modified Vette guys.

This thread hits right @ home for me. I have had to 3 fourth gen fbods with two being sticks & 1 being auto. My 2000 auto was just as fast with about the same amount of mods as my current 2001 ss m6. Loved the auto for waxing people while not having to worry about missed gears but I love banging the gears too. Man I'm just too partial to both.

I guess I'll flip a coin. 2010SS Hmmm....Bang gears or not
