I always have people seemingly rushing around me, pausing a bit to scope out the car. Doesn't bother me.
But then again, maybe it isn't the car as much as it is they're trying to escape the crappy sound of the exhaust when the AFM kicks in when they're behind me!!!!

![]() A stock Camaro SS isn't all that imtimidating mostly because its just so quiet. Put some long tube headers on it, and people start to take notice (and give it a little more respect) A 5th gen with a nice lopey cam, long tubes, and drag radials will scare away about 95% of challengers on the road. |

not only is it not intimidating, when it comes to grunt a stock SS doesn't cut it. (at least L99s dont..) so people are right to challenge them.
Lowered with tint would be enough I think for people to think you have some mods though.. but you will NEVER get respect on the road.. people don't respect anyone but themselves on the road. |

I (mostly) drive my Mustang pretty slow when I'm out and about as it's a bit loud (in both meanings of the word), but my Mazda 2, I drive pretty damn quickly. Not looking for street races in any case, trying to avoid the ruthless gaze of the cops and get from A to B as quickly as I can. I think most guys with "flashy" cars drive them pretty sanely most of the time. Maybe the reasons the "ricers" are always looking for a game is because they blend into traffic so well, well unless the rear wing is 2' high.

And what those people in those Miata's and ricers do is just insane....they have some crazy idea thier car is not longer than three feet and they can fit in anywhere, the tractors and dump trucks can surely stop on a dime not to crush them right? (as a side note, no man should ever be caught dead, much less alive, in a Miata, straight or gay...it just aint natural) |

I was always convinced that everyone on the road " do what they want!" it's ridiculous. And now that I have my car, it happens a lot. People tring to get in front of you or cut you off or even jam up your tail pipe. Doesn't matter if you drive like grandma or like a bat out of hell.

The dope in the yellow Corvette doesn't know the difference in smell between a smoking clutch and smoking tires? Man card revoked.

I don't get people trying to overtly race me so much as just being passive aggressive douche bags by not letting me merge, speeding up when I pass them, etc..
It's like some people out there feel the need to prove something to you because you drive a faster car than them. And I'd say Nissan owners are probably the worst when it comes to this. |

Here in TX, I seem to get Trucks wanting to be a-holes to me. They speed up to ride my bumper, only to whip over and try to get me to race.. You know the typical reving, and lurching forward. I never do take the bait because my street racing days are behind me.
Look Mr Big Hat, No Cattle, I get it. You have a big truck with a very loud exhaust. I am not impressed. Funny thing is, the trucks that do impress me are usually driven by people who don't act like azz-hats. (I love the SVT Raptor)

Me going to pass someone and then having them purposely speed up in a defacto "race" is pretty much a daily occurance for me. And it's never people in fast cars, a few days ago it was some grandma in a minivan. It's like these cars inspire peoples' inner inferiority complex and they then have to prove to you how much better whatever pile of crap they're driving is than your car. Quote:
