But yea, its not a practical vehicle at all with a family, and my family only consists of three. Cant knock a man who listens to and respects his wife. And if this car was more practical, there would probably be 3 or 4x as many on the road right now. |

If the wife wont let ya get one, she obviously doesnt care about what you want. Just sayin. If my girlfriend ever said she wanted me to get rid of my car... well she wouldnt. She knows how important it is to me!

I have only had my camaro for nine days, but I have to give my wife alot of credit for really supporting me and knowing exactly what I was looking for.
When we were car shopping I test drove a blue, mustang, which I really liked. My wife told me to look for something a little more" flashy". We looked at camaros at the local chevy dealer which had a pretty small selection, I took one out for a test drive and I liked it, but I didn't love it. My wife said we would keep looking. 10 days later we had driven 100 miles to the largest chevy dealer in northern California. Now they had a big selection. My wife told me to get the color I wanted, find some nice wheels, and get the C&C package. And there it was, THE ONE,....Ashen Gray, great wheels, fully loaded, I swear, it was calling my name. Needless to say a few hours later I was drivng home in my new camaro. Tomorrow is mother's day and I am planning on spoiling my wife big time. |

I belong to several car clubs. It seems that wives fall into one of 2 categories. The ones that tolerate or even support their husband's hobby, and those that hate it and tell them to get rid of them, while they insist on expanding their collection of 800 shoes or unicorn figurines.
I really don't understand a woman that meets a guy that has a car collection and then marries him and tells him to get rid of them. Obviously this is something he is passionate about and is important to him. Making him get rid of the cars will only make him resent her, and make for a miserable marriage. If they don't like cars, then don't marry someone that is a big car enthusiast. I had been dating a girl for a while before she came to my house for the first time. I love antique furniture and collectibles, and my house had a good selection of very rare and unique items that I had hunted out over the years. She came in and proceeded to point to assorted rare items, and said "I don't like this, that has to go, this has to go, etc..." I said actually I only need to get rid of one thing, and then everything else will be fine. "Oh, what is that?" she asked. "You" I said. Now my collection is twice the size, and I never regretting dumping her. I would have been miserable if we stayed together. |

My wife watched me long for a Camaro for months as I rented them for work and kept gushing over them. She thought they looked good, but couldn't stand to drive it because of the limited site lines and she felt like she was sitting way too low...couldn't see out.
We have 2 boys, one 8 years old and the other 3. She drives a Ford Flex and I currently also have a 2001 F-150 Supercrew. Finally in November I really started having a hard time even sleeping because I had the money, I knew the car that I wanted, but was struggling that the car wasn't a "family" car. I had 3 dealerships basically vying for my business over the same type vehicle and one morning when I was out of town for work I called her to tell her about how I couldn't sleep. She told me to get it, I really wanted it, and I deserved it. I drove it home in 8 hours and have to thank her everyday for giving me to go ahead. Yeah, I could have just bought it and brought it home, but having her blessing made it better.

My wife said to me Sept 11 2010 over a cup of coffee, if you had a choice between the Challenger, Mustang or Camaro which one would you want? I said which ever one it would have a V8 and stick .
We finished our coffee went right to the dealership and purchased my 2ss/rs....... I was secretly checking out all three before so I knew what I really wanted in the driveway next to her now G8 GT.

Without the cash, the wife isn't going to go for a Camaro SS for that matter. My neighbor drive a new Porsche Turbo ($150K). His wife doesn't say a thing because he makes the money and he's got plenty of it. |
