My local Jeep dealer just got his notice, His 38 new Jeeps will be sold at invoice, you probably can get one cheap, I'm betting some GM dealers do the same...

It is difficult to watch as thousands of small businesses close, and tens of thousands lose their jobs. It isn't good for the economy in the near term. It will be a long recovery.
Yes, there are other contributing factors: the economy as a whole, increased competition, historically poor QC that hurt their reputation, too many vehicles that people didn't want to buy, bad union contracts with unsustainable legacy obligations, etc. Yet, the reality is that GM, "over-franchised" (if that's a word). Too many new franchises given out. Some weaker dealerships should have been bought out/consolidated years ago. Stale and unprofitable brands phased out long ago. The overlap of products should never have been allowed; basically the same vehicle cosmetically changed (slightly) and sold under 3-4 different GM brands. This was not a viable business model. It's like the expression that the tree cannot grow taller until the dead branches are pruned. That is the harsh reality of capitalism, and there is no better system. It isn't always pretty. Often is very harsh. However, when the basic tenants of capitalism are ignored the result is often even more brutal, ugly, and harsh. I think that is where GM now finds itself.

Does anyone know where to find a listing of the Chevy dealers that are supposed to be closed by the new GM reorganization?

Dealers won't be notified until Friday, don't think we would know before they would.

I don't think it will be many Chevy dealers. I'm thinking Pontiac, Buick, Saab, Hummer, and Saturn. I think Cadillac and Chevy will be fine. But don't quote me on this because I basing this off of what dealers in my area have been telling me. And we know how creditable that source is based on the info they have been giving us on the status of our Camaros.

it will be more pontiac and saturn. So if your dealer sells a lot of these cars then you might be done. But Chevy pure will be alright. I have a feeling they might have a probation period and if the dealers that they put on on it comply to certain terms they might stick around.

My dealer is the largest in the memphis metro area with one or two others that are much smaller, so I should be good right?
