Does the Auto Trans keep the factory from going to say 650+HP. They would have to beef up the current auto tranny.

I can't imagine anyone being upset that they bought a ZL1. I'm surprised that such a topic can even can come up. Both Ford and Chevy are really putting such amazing cars on the road and while they aren't cheap... they are truly affordable for the performance you are getting stock from the factory. Anyone that isn't happy with their ZL1, GT500, or even SS or GT probably (1) Has too much money and hasn't had to work for it, and (2) Probably can't drive their car within 50% of what it is capable of.

The Horsepower and performance wars are in full swing! Both Chevy and Ford are showing the rest of the world that our "Muscle" or "Pony" Cars are now crushing their "Super" cars not only in a straight line, but on just about any turf they want to play on now, and we're doing it at 1/2 or 1/3'rd the price.

It's a great time to love sports cars!

My first reaction to this thread was:

....or.........

........and then I said to myself:

"...........self - let's just for the heck of it go and see if we can find someone who bought a ZL1 and hates it........."

..........well -- I found him:

-- in reality, I suppose that there will always be one or two people (no matter what the brand) that have buyer's remorse - and I think in the case of the ZL1 that we have more than one or two people who would be willing to 'take it off your hands'.......

I would be upset if I DID NOT have one!

My take is anyone who has one is 100% satisfied GM got it right! I, for one, doubt I could ever tell the difference if it had any more HP. And, if you think about it, the ONLY time you "might" feel that HP is at EXTREME performance situations! And that is a rare situation to be in. Most likely, anyone who IS in that position very often will modify it minimally with bolt ons and take it to the 10's. Limited internals and you are in, what, the 9's?

But I'm really really happy with 11.8-12.3 at my disposal anytime I want! HA! With Traction Control thank you!

I'm blessed to have one. Bottom line. I'm Grateful GM made it, grateful for my buying experience. Once in a generation opportunity! The car is an instant classic and family heirloom!

I TOTALLY agree with you!^^^^

I love my Boss 302, but if I had the money to purchase a ZL1, shoot, I wouldn't hesitate! Actually, if I had the money, I would buy a GT 500, Challenger SRT8, Charger SRT8, ect...(you get my point! LOL)

They are ALL great cars regardless of the name plate!

...you may as well start a thread that says "who's upset that they won a lottery sometime in their life."

And if somebody was disappointed, I'm sure that they wouldn't say it.
