Sorry for your loss. Our dogs are part of our family as well.... It's tough to lose a family member.
It took us almost 3 years to get another pup after our last dog passed away. |

I hope you are doing better. I have lost so many pets. I don't know what I do when my 6 year old lab goes. animals are always true friends.

I'm so sorry for your loss. This post made me tear up a bit, as my pup just turned 5, she is my best friend, and the idea of her passing away makes me want to cry. Stay strong!

Ugh...I hate threads like this...makes me sad and thin about my childhood. Had a beagle when I was born. When I was 18 came home from school one day to mom telling me she had Sissy put to sleep. Didn't get to say bye...still lot of anger and hurt about this.
Had 4...divorce took 1...but I have her for visitation this week OP a new friend would do you good and please give one in a shelter a chance.

And our hunt for a new dog will only be from a shelter. There are so many great dogs stuck in them, it's going to feel great to help at least one of them. Sent from my 2SS/RS |

Soprano is one beautiful boy. I'm glad he lives on in your heart and now on our forum. He's the reason why you'll get a new one which will make the new one very special. Thank you for sharing him with all of us. Mine are in my avatar and they are my daily joy.

With time everything heals little by little.
During the horrendous journey putting them both thru chemo treatments we found this beauty limping on the side of the road. Someone tossed her out to die She has helped immensely.

Threads like this are terrible! It sucks you lost your best friend - it really is amazing how much of an effect the loss of an animal can have. It can be just as bad if not worst than a human.
I've always been a cat guy because it was the first kind of pet my mom got me when I was just five, though I've had all kinds (lizards, a hedgehog, a guinea pig, etc.), and it kinda stuck since then even though I'd like to own a dog someday. I know everybody here on this board hates cats, but Ghandi here (yes, that's his name LOL) is almost 15 years old now. Always been very affectionate and sweet natured and I am not at all looking forward to when it's his time to go. He has digestive problems, tends to overgroom himself when he's stressed out, and has a leaky eye. He's also a bit senile too since he meows incessantly every once in awhile while roaming the house. He spends most of his time sleeping anymore... Don't ever want him to die but that's the way the cookie crumbles with life. People telling you to "get another one" just don't get it. |
