I have a new USB I picked up and put like 500 songs on it and it will not read it. It says no data found or something like that. I put it back into the computer and it reads all the music just fine. I have plugged it in and out and nothing..................I havent tried my Ipod yet. I hope at least it works. All of my music is on it, but I have to get another aux cable first..........

You have to make sure they are in MP3 or WMA format for the car to read them. Also, don't bury it in a lot of subfolders. It shouldn't have to be in the root directory, but try just 1 folder deep. There shouldn't be any issues with that. My guess is that the songs just weren't in the right format (like M4A if they were purchased/ripped in iTunes).

For your iPod, you don't need an Aux cable, just the regular USB cable that came with the iPod. Hook it up and see what happens.

codeman71, are WMA files with DRM supported? Could SamsinSS be using DRM-encrusted WMAs and that's his problem?

That could be possible. And No, DRM-encrusted WMA files are not supported. They may be supported if you are using a PlaysForSure device that has been authorized to play them. But that is also a very weird case because not all PlaysForSure devices support PlayFromDevice. And Not all PlayFromDevice devices support playing DRM'd content over the USB cable.

So short answer, DRM'd WMA's on a flash drive will NOT work.

Somebody else had a problem with this and come to find out they weren't pressing the cd/aux button 2x to get to the USB port. Pressing it once gets to the aux input, 2x for USB port.

Every time I press the cd/aux it goes from CD to Aux, there is no 3rd choice. I picked mine up on Mon. plugged the flashdrive in, it worked fine. It hasn't worked since. I tried all the steps in this post. Unplugged overnight, plugged in after starting this morning, nothing. Aux jack out is displayed.

Any suggestions Codeman?

I'm really glad to see that you like your car. I'm sorry that you're having problems with the USB port. The remedy should be to unplug the USB and let the vehicle go to sleep. After that, the PDIM should reinitialize and function properly. I know you said you tried that already, but that's currently the only way I've found to reset the module. Hopefully after another cycle that will kick it out of its funk.

Like I've said in these threads, we're working on a software update and it will be released soon, which should resolve all of these issues that you guys are seeing. Thanks for buying a Camaro and I hope that we'll have you back up and running soon!

Plugged the iPod in, started the car and the CD player came on. Wouldn't connect to the iPod.

I remembered reading something about this problem on this forum a day or two ago, so I got on my Blackberry, got here and read abotu re-starting the car with FM on. So I did this at a red light, and it worked.

At least there seems to be a temporary solution to get around it.

Ok so 2 questions (or more of a confirmation) I pick up my car in about 3 hours. I have an iriver clix which last night i updated the firmware and it asked me if i wanted to format it to work in MTP to allow support for PlaysFromDevice, so I did that. So I am hoping this will be enough to play my DRM'd music on the car? i guess I will find out soon...

Secondly, I recall you saying that there are 2 bluetooth modues in the car, 1 for the phone and 1 for the PDIM. So concieveably I could have my cellphone hooked up to work as a phone and if I had some sort of MP3 player that has bluetooth (do they even exist?) I could just play music and control it through that without even connecting a USB cable? Both connected at the same time?

WELL... THAT didnt work. Player indexed fast, song titles show up, but it skips every track with DRM.... UGH!
