It makes sense that they would hold them until after the June 1st announcement. I do believe this process is moving faster now though. I was number 8 on my dealer's list last week and moved to number 3 yesterday and am expected to be at 3000 by next week. Maybe they will deliver them all in June, July, and August.

How old is the info in the article?....Quote: "GM spokesman Dan Flores says the company has made about 1,400 of the V-8 equipped 2010 Camaros and 300 have been sold" .End Quote..1,400 V8s produced???.
We've aready past 10,000 car's produced, so that would mean only 14% of production are SS's? Based on the numbers he quotes, I think a lot of the info in this article is at least 3-4 weeks old, and a lot of things have changed since then.

possible correction. after reading many articles and post on this site, i offer some thoughts.
1. the production line opened mid mar with 14,000 orders
2. may 8th, i read that total orders were up to 19,000
3. may 15, i saw that vin "10200" had been issued.

given that, i would estimate that;
a. about 10,000 orders are out there waiting to be made
b. they are averaging about 400 a day/ 2000 a week
c. it will take about 2.5 months to produce the current wait list
d. if they increase the line to 440 a day, give it two months

so my dealers estimate of 3 months with a july delivery, because they still had open allocations, was reasonable. any body have access to contradictory information?

my symapthies to all those who pre-ordered without knowing about allocations awarded by past sales performance. in hind sight, it smacks of "failing to disclose" a what we (Camaro Lovers) consider a significant fact.

but then again, i've never found a crystal ball, wigie board, fortune teller, or mystic that was worth 2 cents. if you know of one that works, why are you in the position your in??????

if you can't focus the emotion into a positive action that contributes to a meaningfull change, you only become a loose cannon.

have you called and filed a complaint with BBB, GM, Chevrolet, called you state's AG? posted those phone numbers and e-mail contacts for like minded people to voice their dis-satisfaction??

I wish, but definitely not. VIN -1597 - Florida. Built 3/27. No word yet. Cautiously optimistic.

Bingo...like you I deal in metrics, MBPs, Goal Deployment, Strategy Maps, and in the middle of an Oracle transition for 3 manufacuturing facilities this year. Kaizens, Six Sigma...you name it and I am a Regional Sales Manager, but its not about sales, its processes that run business now. So removing the emotion, and thinking about business...when do you want revenue to hit the books...before you file, or after when it goes in the plus column of the new company? I have pretty much given up on trying to communicate the rationales because many won't get it, but if they understand this...it lays some anger to rest. I have been waiting since 10/15 and my dealer just last week was able to get info from GM because they weren't even getting calls back in relation to their sold orders. There is nothing underhanded going on here, just business.

this is great news! i just wonder what regions get the cars first...im from new york but i ordered in new jersey =/ ...and also i wonder if the 19000 back orders are all original allocations... im not sure if im over my dealers initial guide number allocation cuz i cant get an answer from them... i got "i still dont know what this guiide number you speak of is...i never even heard of it" ...so i feel i am over the amount they were allocated... does any1 know how many total allocations were giving for pre-orders?

I was gonna say that. It's a Camaro forum, any news that's two weeks old is two months old to us.
