I would have returned mine....I realize what the offer is.

Your points are valid though.

They did this before 3 yrs ago. It was called MAY THE BEST CAR WIN. Same thing. You could do the return deal or $500 cash.

Its kinda funny because I opted out of that program when I bought my 2010 in Sep. 09. Im going to be doing the same thing again with my 2013 that I have coming in

I did the same the last time as well. I took the opt out for $500 credit, and applied it to the down payment on the car.

My local dealer has two 2012 ZL1's and the asking price on each is $10K over MSRP. One is $67,725 and the other is $68,549 including the "Limited Production" markup.
Interesting point. I wonder how the program is applied in this situation. Are dealers still allowed to price new cars above MSRP while this program is in effect?

Now there is further clarification on the program -
ZL1's are excluded. That means a dealer can charge over MSRP
-not what I would do -
but it's not part of the program. No $500 rebate either!!

Good question Hylton!!

Scion does this and i think it works out well. Stops the dealer from controlling price, and you know what you're getting yourself into ahead of time.

Yeah, it's great if you want to pay MSRP minus a few bucks.

Manufacturers do this to offer the illusion of discounts without having to dig too deeply into their pockets.

Must buy before end of September-ish.

Seems like a summer incentive.
