Not my favorite side (reminds me of the 3 months that I owned a new Subaru before I got rid of it). I'd prefer it to be on the driver's side, the same as all my other american cars.

I don't exactly hate it, but if I could pick I prefer the driver's side. Just seems easier for some reason, but then again the last several cars had it on the driver's side, so it may just be familiarity.

I don't mind the side now that I am used to it. The thing I hate is the plastic tether and hook meant to hold the gas cap that doesn't work.
The Costcos here only allow you to enter from one direction. There are lines for cars with gas caps on the driver side. If your cap is on the passenger side there's never any wait.

Makes no difference to me. I think all the GM cars I've owned had the tank filler on the same side. Who cares about a fuel door release?

it seems like with the concept gas tank or better yet where it is, you would be at the gas pump scratching your car every time you got gas

I like how they have a little arrow next to the gas gauge in case I forget which side the fill is on. Handy with rentals as well.

It the gas cap had been on the driver's side that would actually be more frustrating for me personally. All my other vehicles have the gas tank on the passenger side(my two VW Bugs have it in the front on the passenger side since they're rear engine) so I always pull up to the pumps on the passenger side. Really messes me up if I borrow a friends car or anything like that. But had the Camaro gas cap been on the driver's side I woulda got used to it eventually, not worth complaining about really.

I think it is excellent being on the passenger side. Prevents you from opening your door into one of those concrete poles or blocks around the pumps.

That's my complaint too, opening and closing. Especially closing, it needs a release of some sort.

I know they changed it for safety reasons, but I can remember years ago when the gas tank filler tube was located behind the rear license plate. You just pulled the plate down and there was the gas cap. That way you didn't have to worry about which side of the punp to pull up to. Gen1 Camaro's were located in the center rear.

At least it's not like the '56 Chevy, in the tail light. I like the '67 Camaro location (above the license plate).

They should start putting it behind the license plates again. Problems solved.

EDIT: Ah crap, 5cents posted it while I was typing...oh well.

I'm Australian ... (just like the chassis the camaro has been built on) ... It IS in the correct side ... Or should I say ... The RIGHT side!

Actually it was good for me ... I had a Holden SSV Commodore in Aus (sold here as a rebadged Pontiac G8 with an ugly front end) ... And that was on the same side, so I was happy. I just had that whole driving on the other side of the road and shifting gears with the other hand thing to think about. That was tough ... Was like trying to learn how to do something else with the other hand after using the opposite one for all these years!

Guess you could say it felt like someone else doing it!
