That's funny because majority of New Edge Mach1/Cobra owners complain about low end torque.

Look at typical mod list - 4.10 gears is one of the most popular mods.

Yup!

Like I said..... "That car loves the top end"

As fast as my SS?? I don't think so, BUT.... I can tell ya this.... you can string that bitch out in 3rd all the way to 130 mph before the rev limiter kicks in.

My SS is spent in 3rd @ about 118 mph.

Just sayin......

Another thing....

I know "on paper" the 2010 SS is faster than a stock 1994 RX7 twin hairdriers.

BUT.... it sure doesn't feel like it.

I love my SS, but I miss that force fed rotary bullet!

I had more fun and have gone faster in that car than any other "street legal" car I've owned.

Favorite car and most powerful/fastest car I've owned was a 65 chevy II
with a 502 crate motor sprayin a 250 shot.

Make a wet spot in ya drawars!!!

the 4V in the Mach 1 is actually quite different than the 4V that is in the terminator Cobras. Someone correct me if I am wrong but I believe they only share the cylinder heads.

The Mach 1 is an aluminum block, the cobra is an iron block,

If my memory serves me correctly, the 03-04 mach 1's share the same motor as the 2000 cobra, but the heads off of the 03-04 cobra.

Well the only cobra built in 200 was the Cobra R with a N/A 5.4 4V

taken from wikipedia so take with a grain of salt

"this all-aluminium engine features the same high flow heads as the 2003–2004 SVT Cobra, 2003–2004 Mercury Marauder, 2003–2005 Lincoln Aviator, and the 2003–2009 Australian Boss 5.4 L V8s (see Ford of Australia Boss 5.4 L), the engine also has intake camshafts sourced from Lincoln's 5.4 Liter "InTech" V8 to provide more mid-range torque. The Mach 1 engine had a 10.1:1 compression ratio in contrast to the 1999 and 2001 Cobra's 9.85:1, and the Mach 1 was equipped with a Windsor Aluminum Plant or WAP block unique from the Teksid aluminium blocks used in the 1996–1999 Cobras. The Mach 1 also featured a relatively high redline of 6,800 rpm (5-speed cars) and fuel cut off at 7,050 rpm or 5800 rpm (4-speed automatic). While on paper the 305 hp (228 kW) ratings seem a loss when compared to the 1999 and 2001 SVT Cobras which produced 320 hp (239 kW), in practice the Mach 1 engine produced similar peak horsepower and substantially more torque."

the blocks were different from 99 cobras, the cams were from the 5.4 in the navigator, the heads were from the 03/04 cobra. The Mach 1 engine is pretty unique to itself

There weren't any cobra's built in "200".

I think that says it all right there, don't you?

It doesn't really matter though, I drive a 2010 SS and I know it's gonna walk on the mach!

Are you for real guy?

My 03 Cobra made 486 RWTQ @ 2000 RPM, and I also had 3.55 gears. The car was amazing from a dead stop, and even better at higher speeds.

New edge Cobras were built in 2000, being the Cobra R, 99/01, 2002 (Australian Models) and 03/04.

The 03/04 Mach 1 and 03/04 Cobra had the same heads, but different internals. The Cobra had Forged Rods and better pistons.

Are you for real?

I didn't say anything about Terminators. New Edge usually refers to 99/01.

Let me rephrase that...New Edge Cobras usually refer to 99/01 years.

You mean you put in those gears? Or are you referring to the stock ratio?
