I was at a stop light with a C5 SS. I waved at him, but he didn't notice. So I revved my engine, hoping he would look at me and see me wave, but he just looked straight ahead. So I revved really loud a few times. Still nothing. Light turned green and I took off pretty quick, hoping he would play along. Still nothing.

I'm sure from his perspective I was acting like a jerk, but I only realized this when I thought about it later. I was just excited because we had something in common

I wave and flash my lights at EVERY Camaro I see. Don't get alot of waves back tho. I am also a Jeep guy so it is second nature for me to wave.

Plus lots of people just aren't into cars, and they drive whatever they happen to like that week with no brand allegiance and no idea if it's cool or not.
The first week I had my Camaro I was snubbed by 2 other 5th gen owners - too cool to wave. No biggie, the compliments and heads turning everywhere totally made up for it.
Everyone around my town....even in my general area....think they are better than everyone else while driving their Camaro. I'm extremely disappointed. I always wave to other Camaros, but RARELY get a wave back. Numbers wise, i'd say 1 in 15 wave back. 5 of the 15 don't even acknowledge that I'm even there. The other 10 just turn the other way.

I hate snobby people. Not just snobby Camaro drivers.

but i haven't ran into Camaro owners with road rage. I have had 1 or 2, in the past year and a half that i have had my car, antagonize a race. Don't remember racing any that i didn't personally know.

I have had a honda try to pass me in the emergency lane on an on ramp and start sliding because he was going around the turn too fast. Directly beside me. I dropped it, gave it A LOT of ass, and got clear of that guy.

He didn't pull back up to me after that.

but that was probably the worst i've ran into!

The more 5th gens that hit the road the less waves or thumbs up happen.

I had a guy yesterday pull up beside me and said he has seen these cars all over on the road but has never seen a green one and just loved it.. I was like thanks but you have never seen a green one?

Most if not all 5th gen Camaro owners that I have encountered do not wave in CA. It is not part of this cars culture yet. Hopefully it will grow. When I had my JK Jeep (Sorely miss and will buy a new Jeep next year) it was hard to get waves back, but I did get waves. With the 45th I have given the peace sign so many times I think I were at Woodstock. No one except one V6 Black Camaro. lll contine to acknowledge and respect all fellow Camaro owners who are out there. For the record I will never come up and dis-respect a fellow Camaro owners car regardless of year.

Vettes, well thats another story..

Exactly, there are a large number of aholes in the world, some of them are bound to find their way into a car you also happen to be driving. All you can do is be yourself, keep on keepin on and try not get sucked into the stupid....

I owned a Harley for years and its the same on a bike every bike you pass gives you a thumbs up or a wave, me personally I don't wave and don't see why I have to give it back I just want to ride. That said I was sitting at a light and a Z28 was at the cross road and the guy was waving at me like I was his best friend sorry to all but I don't wave its nothing personal its just me.

I give what I consider to be "car enthusiasts" a thumbs-up or a wave as we pass each other. Late model Challenger owners almost always reciprocate, as do most Mustang owners. I'll be damned if a single Camaro owner has returned the gesture.

I will say that Camaros are the minority here in Omaha, NE. Seems to be many more Challangers and Mustangs than anything else.
People might wave in Mayberry, but in big cities waving just doesn't happen. And here, it's hot most of the year and you can't see through people's tinted windows. It's really nothing to do with anyone being a snob.

Coming from Corvettes to Camaros, I am used to waving to others. In my Corvette, I would get a wave from a fellow Vette owner about 80% of the time. On the other hand, I can hardly even get another Camaro owner to look my way, let alone actually wave to me. I will say this is mostly other 5th Gen owners. I get a ton of waves from previous Gen Camaros.

What I have come to figure out is, that for the most part the Camaro is just a car to many of the people driving it. There are plenty of us enthusiasts out there, but with 80,000+ Camaros sold every year our percentage is small. I will still wave, or at least try to make eye contact, but I no longer expect any acknowledgement in return.

Only issue I have is people hating on my car because it is a V6...mostly on this site...but in the real world too.
