It's not worth the argument, I just ignore them. 270rwhp from an almost bone stock v6, I'll take it. That's more rwhp than the early 4th gen v8s had.

I was at a car show 3 weeks ago with my cousin and his new 5.0. Guy row back had a v6 camaro....looked nice. I sorta felt bad because some teenagers started busting his chops about why he didn't get the V8. Guy was in his late 40's/early 50's.

My cousin felt bad too and turned on his car...revving it up....brought the attention over to his car and left the guy alone.

Some people are just plain out rude and ignorant.

I've never had any negative comments on my 6 and doubt it would bother me much anyway. I drive a Camaro and that's all that matters.

You know, aside from nearly 14-flat 1/4 runs, over 270hp to the rear, and the ability to even smoke the occasional V8. It's not how many cylinders you have, it's how you use them.

On what planet is a 5.3 Impala faster than a V6 Camaro? The LS4 cars have a two-hundred pound weight advantage and about 50 lb-ft more torque. That said...the LS4's are fast...but that's about all they have going for them, besides torque steer and transmissions grenading.

OP, don't worry about trying to make others happy. It's impossible. When I had my V6, I heard it all the time. People will always find fault with others because most people believe they are perfect. The 45th editions are nice cars, V8, V6, whatever.

I would drive it and enjoy it....I really liked my LFX and I like my SS as well. I dont think you can go wrong either way, and its probably much nicer than what the naysayers are driving anyway.

99.99% of people have no idea what kind of engine we have.

They just see a 'muscle car.'

Period.

I'll agree with this. I know plenty of gearheads who are very impressed with the speed and power of my six. Plus it looks fantastic

This. I've beaten plenty of early 4th gen V8's.

ummmm no. It depends what tire/wheel package came on it. If they got 19 or 20's, it is limited at 155, not 118.

I believe it.

My cammed and stalled, 325hp/320tq 357ci LT1 lost to a v6 5th gen on the freeway doing 50mph to 90-100mph rolls. I knew my 2012 v6 felt fast, but damn I didn't realize how hard they pull in the top end compared to other vehicles. Heavier and less horsepower, but up top the v6s hold their own.

The funny thing is, the guy who owned the '94 I beat at the drag strip last summer was absolutely LIVID when he found out my car was a V6. At first he assumed it was a V8 and congratulated me, then asked what I was running. I popped the hood for him and he came unglued.

I believe it - I felt like I got kicked in the balls afterwards. Dyno power for dyno power, I should easily have 50hp on the v6 Camaros, and the 5th gens weigh so much more... to this day I'm still feeling like something is wrong with the top end power band because of that 5th gen v6. :(

Although I did feel better when I was in my '94 Camaro and playing around with a early 90's Cobra and he couldn't keep up...

my friends give me smack all the time. "LOL ITS A V6, AND AN AUTOMATIC HURHURHAHURHUR!" Then I rev it up. They all stop laughing and ask to go for a ride.

Ummmmm....except AngryBird, who posted about a 150 mph top speed has the 18 inch wheels.
