DOT drag radials will get you a big change in 1/4 mile E.T. slips. No mods other than a tire change for the track or weekend needed.

Get an intake, LTs and GEARS! Those 3 mods will make your car much quicker on the street! I can't stress gears enough. Made my car feel 1000 lbs lighter

With carbs, you need a weather station and did LOTS of jet and timing changes to account for weather changes (temp, humidity, barometric pressure, and altitude changes at different tracks). A summer and winter dyno session is needed if you want to play with the big boys. Dynos SAVE money. I used to hang out at Shepherd Racing Heads near his Pro Stock partners, Reher-Morrison. Lee would port heads with good results on a flowbench but the dyno said no go. IF the dyno said it made power, it was time for a track session. The flowbench AND dyno were not the final say on what got the car down the track. The newfound power needed to work with the other parts. R&D was a non-stop process for those guys. I'm sure it's the same for the big shops that install their own modifications and tune them. Stop and think how much R&D goes into development of the heart of every motor, a new camshaft!

It's fun seeing creative usernames like "Snidely Whiplash". Wonder what he's up to?
