That is so VERY untrue. I finance 100% of my car. Here is why... My loan is 3.9%... I make about 12% on my money with various investments. Why should I put that money down that is making me ~8% by holding on to it?

If I wanted to pay over sticker (which I absolutely refuse), my bank will give me up to 175% of sticker price, but it is because my score is over 815.

Wow, I wish I could get that kind of return. All of my extra money just goes into my government thrift savings account where I choose from several different investment options. It's been mostly negative lately. 12% sounds like the Bernie Madoff investment plan.

Have you checked your "investments" lately? There isn't an investimate out there that makes 12% consistantly unless you are running your own business and then I wouldn't consider that an investment.
