Umm, well since Camaro's outsold them and are more commonplace...does that mean Camaro's are .08 a dozen??

....and "is a better machine" is simply your opinion. Actual empirical data suggests otherwise. Real-world track numbers indicate that they're as closely matched as their sales numbers.

You know...just sayin'.

These two are not as close as the sales data suggest that they are, the Camaro had 2 months of little to no production and now we are entering the end of the year.

Combine that with great deals on Mustangs then you saw a Mustang boost and a Camaro drop.

We can say that for the 2011 model year car the Mustang edged the Camaro out, however for the 2012 and 2013 model year not so. We really need to see 2013 model year comparos for the Mustang and Camaro, we know how the mags feel about the GT500 vs ZL1 Camaro. I have a feeling that they will share similar feelings between the 1LE Camaro and BOSS 302 Mustang.

That leaves the V6 and regular SS Camaro to battle the V-6 and GT Mustang.

The new camaro has been out for a couple of years now, the mustang has had a non-stop run. so yeah, there are tens of thousands more of the bland-looking weak mustangs on every corner. that's the point. more and more camaros as time goes on, but a much better looking car. And track numbers show the camaro has the superior chassis, only needs a horsepower boost. the 'stang will modify their chassis to compete, so in the eyes of many, including some top mags, the camaro is the better machine. i'm sure you've read the reviews. So there you go, and i don't have to hide behind "just sayin'". it is what it is.

Two comments...

One... Anyone happen to hear the durable goods orders report for August? DOWN 15% and at a 3 year low. This is a fairly reliable indicator of where the economy really is (people need refrigerators and washing machines) and FAITH people have in it. With that said, it is awesome Camaros or any other cars are selling. The spike down probably goes hand in hand with the durable goods chart.

Two... Today I drove my Orange Krate to work today (it is NOT my daily driver) and while going down Rosemead Blvd. (in So Cal) a 50 year old lady pulled along side me in her gold Honda and start pointing and waving. I slowed not knowing if there was something wrong. I rolled down my window and she beamed and enthusiastically said "That is a GREAT looking car!"

It was nice of her to notice and comment because she was very bald and looked like she had been going through Chemo therapy. It was great knowing my car made her morning because she made mine! I love this darn car more every day. Mustangs look great but I bet that lady didn't pull up alongside a Mustang this day.

I may be a mustang guy right now, but Im a car enthusiast and love all performance cars. This site is a great way to keep up on what GM is doing not just with the camaro but with their trucks and Cadillac as well. And I love good debate over cars.

But there are still 2 things I don't understand about the mentality on this site.

1. Looks of the Camaro VS Mustang (I know its a camaro site so it will be 99% biased) but looks are subjective, it is not fact it is opinion yet many people state it as fact.

2. People constantly say they are glad they have a camaro because mustangs are everywhere, but are so glad to see the Camaro outselling the mustang which means there will be more camaros on the road than mustangs. pick a side and stay on it.

The thing I don't like about Camaros outselling Mustangs is the general sense of "brotherhood" between fellow Camaro owners that has all but disappeared in recent months. This time last year (in my town, anyway), if I was driving my Camaro and saw another Camaro on the road, it was an AUTOMATIC nod and wave...a mutual understanding and acknowledgement that we are both attracting everyone's attention as the two best cars on the road. Fast forward to today...I still notice Camaros a long way off, but now I desperately start looking for some kind of modification that will let me know it's an actual ENTHUSIAST instead of some college girl that got the 1LS as a gift. Thankfully, I can get my fix discussing our awesome cars with the other enthusiasts on this site...but times have changed.

The ONLY reason I like to see Camaro outselling Mustang is because it gives me hope that GM will freaking KEEP it this time. But I already miss the days when everyone who owned a Camaro knew they were driving something special.

1. I'm not a numbers geek, but hasn't the mustang typically outsold the camaro? I think it always had a bigger fan base, was the first pony car, etc etc. In fact, i would expect the mustang to STILL be outselling the camaro after the camaro's newness wore off, especially if ford has better price incentives, faster 1/4 mile times, backlash for GM's bankruptcy, etc. For the camaro to still be outselling the mustang at this stage is testament to the overwhelming popularity of its looks. It's just better looking. so as an individual statement, yes of course it's an opinion which one looks better, but as a general statement it's pretty much a fact that the camaro is better looking, and the proof is in the pudding. (of course, the better chassis helps too).

2. I don't think there will ever be as many camaros as there are mustangs on the road. how many mustangs sold from '04-'10? They're literally everywhere. So, yes, over time the 5th gen would become more and more commonplace, but with a redesign around the corner that's not really going to happen. I think this body style will always be highly regarded for its classic good looks.

No it's not a fact that one car is better looking that is an opinion. Fact is something that is proven, true and undeniable. 2+2=4 is a fact, me saying terminator 2 is the best movie ever is opinion.

Looks is subjective, it is opinion based. You say factually the camaro is better looking. I think it is ugly I'm not trying to argue anything other than you can not say one looks better than the other is a fact.

That would be like me telling you say Megan fox is hotter than Jennifer Anniston and claim it as fact.

Shaffe I agree 100%. There is nothing wrong with the looks of the Mustang or Challenger. FACT is... all of the designers essentially go to the same schools use the same technology and materials to produce these vehicles. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There is nothing wrong with you liking BBWs and someone else liking lean and mean chickababies. LOL I love them all...big and small. HA HA HA

True, but if you said Megan Fox is hotter than Rhea Perlman, it's still just an opinion, but the majority of people would agree with you, as would the hotness polls (or sales records). You happen to be Rhea fan, doesn't make you a bad person .
