Are any gains to be made with the RX ported manifold, wedge and a Vmax TB when added to a 2013 SS 1LE Camaro with ARH long tubes, hi-flo cats and an Air Aid CAI?

Thanks little 88. I have a Vmax TB on my '11 CTS and it is a noticable addition so I thought it might help the LS3. Agreed on the wedge though.

Little hit it on the head. I will say however that car did feel different on the way home (45min trip). Pulled much harder and it's not placebo for me, it's my dd and I know it in and out. That said I will attribute it more to the manifold which actually showed very reasonable gains for the cost.

I personally and 100% honestly would not recommend the wedge. It will be for sale or returned shortly.
The intake manifold ported by Tracy however I would absolutely recommend. Gains were very good when you factor $/hp plus the gains it had produced now on multiple vehicles. I will write a better review tomorrow after I smooth things over with the misses, day took a little longer then expected as Tracy pointed out lol. But again too me, well worth the money. |

I'll just go ahead and throw this out there.....
You didn't drive it for 35 miles to allow the fuel trims to learn, that's why you didn't get the huge increase in power and torque all of the highly calibrated butt dynos here on Camaro5 felt. Edit: Can you guys post up the dyno sheets for the wedge and the ported manifold? |

Since we're throwing things out there, If the IM made ~8whp on a cammed car making roughly 490whp, how much is it going to make on a stock car. It's been common knowledge that ported IM's and the FAST IM start to shine when you start moving considerably more air. Neither has produced much, if anything, on a stock to mildly modded car.
Not suprised about the wedge. I never completely understood the theory behind it, or at the least the way VR explained it. I'm sure there'll be "reasons" as to why it didn't perform the way it should have, but thanks for the info Brim.

My fast gave me noticeable differences on a bolt on car. Couldnt tell you what the gains are but it felt faster for sure. I dyno'd at 390 on a mustang dyno with 1-3/4 headers. Thats probably 410-415 on a dynojet. |

Had the computer had time to re-learn I assume it would have picked up quite a few more HP then the 8rwhpI gained on back to back runs (only breaks where to allow the dyno to cool and heat soak to dissipate). Yea she did, I just had to succumb to a few hours of Reality TV with her lol....I almost wish she would of just stayed mad.. ![]() Quote:
For most of us, trying to squeeze the most out of this car until I go FI every hp counts. If I can swap manifolds and gain 8 to the wheel with nothing else that to me is worth it for the cost. I gained 8rwhp with no relearn, just a swap and a few pulls. I hope this helps everyone. My goal was to see if it worked, it did. My goal was to gain some RWHP and TQ, it did. IN MY OPINION: This is a very cost effective way to help squeeze every pony out of this car. And if you go FI (Centri or Turbo), you would benefit even more. I will get dynos up I promise..They will be coming off my phone as I am on duty right now but they will be up. Chris |
