Before the cam swap not too much. Now - several times per trip. Just quick glances at the oil pressure and oil temp. Have become a little anal about waiting til oil temp is up before any fun can begin.

Thanks!
If you "hotrod" your car around, it's good to know when your oil pressure and temps are optimal before doing so IMO. I also have a 1ss and installed the cluster, best mod so far IMO.

I've actually thought about pulling mine out and replacing to have a place for the phone but then I think "they look too cool!".

I've only looked at them once or twice while stopped. Way too low to use while driving - plus the way they are designed they're not easy to glance at and get a quick reading.

Would be nice to have digital read outs in place of the analog gauges, but then they wouldn't have that cool retro vibe.

Exactly. I look at mine every time I drive, taking it easy until everything is up to temp.

Very rarely do I look at the gauges, and If I do, it's to look at the boot gauge.
The gauges are too far from the line of sight when you're driving. They look cool, but just not practical. I'd rather be able to monitor those same readings in the DIC like I can with the engine temp.

I look at them quite a lot. I actually don't hammer on the car until the oil temp has reached at least 200. Then the car is really warmed up. Also when I'm driving aggressively its nice to see the temp for the tranny as well. Overall I'd say they are extremely useful.

You could always spend the $70 bucks on an ultragauge that reads all that info from the OBDII and SO MUCH more and place it whereever you like. Check my build thread for some pics and videos of it working if you'd like.

I keep an eye on them and it's nice to have them. Some feel that they are useless and not in a great spot. I don't think they are that hard to read and I much rather know what's going on with my car then wait to see a light pop up on the dash to tell you that somethings probably already broken.

They were one of the first mods I did to my 1SS/RS. I like the retro look they add to the car.

Not to start an argument but I am quite happy with the extra storage space. Though one of my buddies got in my car one day and mentioned that I didn't have the gauges. He said that they look really cool and I should get them. I was considering it for a while and decided that because it is my DD I would rather have the room for my phone and 2 drinks. You have to have somewhere for a girl to put down her drink. Plus for that kind of money I can add more HP to make that skirt ride just a little bit higher
