I've had this happen a few times now.
Many months ago I drove my car to work, absolutely no issues. Parked it. Then when I got back in to drive home that day, zero electrical power. Nothing, nada. It was as if someone had disconnected the battery. I popped open the trunk, everything looked good, I just grabbed the cables to shake them and check if they were loose, they seemed tight to me. Apparently that was enough to "fix it", as power was then there and it started just fine. Had a check engine light for a day or so after that but I didn't have an OBD reader at the time. Fast forward to a few days ago- I was driving in traffic but at a stop, got the message "! Reduced Engine Power" and I could feel it, it was in limp mode. I managed to drive a few blocks then it died out entirely and I couldn't restart it. I popped open the trunk to check the battery, everything looked tight, but after just touching things back there it was able to start and run normally. Then today as I as on the autobahn I got the same error for reduced power. I managed to limp it to the next gas station. This time I had my OBD II reader and multimeter to check power. Checked the battery connections again, and I had voltage up to the Positive and negative points in the engine bay. The OBD code was P2135, Throttle Body sensor "A" and "B" mismatch(or something to that effect). Once again without really doing anything or finding a loose connection, the car was able to start again normally without the error. Going to have it checked out at a local garage.

I have this issue (P2135) and I have had my windshield replaced. How do I check for a leak with the windshield?

I forgot to mention it also shows a P1516 code.

Havent read thread but have you checked the positive cable's "fuse box" near the batt?; There was a loose nut in there and it was causing random electrical problems to my car...

I would look to the foot pedal and its potentiometer. And always occasionally clean the MAF, the thing is so connected it shows a problem that could be any number of issues and all the warning lights come on even from a loose ground, loose wires on a injector, loose connection at the MAF, loose hose to a catch can, etc..... SO sometimes simply unconnecting and checking the prongs for connections can make a lot of difference. I do believe there was a TSB for the pedal and have heard of them being replaced. Good Luck.

Know this thread has been silent for awhile. So let's bring it back up.
Mine started acting up and I took it in. They swapped out the throttle body on my 2012 2SS. Code p2135. Drove it home and all was ok. Let it sit for about a week. Drove it today with the wife just to get out of house a little bit. And what do you think happened? Limp mode half way into our ride. Got it to Autozone. they read it. What do you think? Yep. P2135!!!! So now, I gotta call the dealer, setup a time, get a loaner, get it fixed,,,,again,,,drive back up there (45 minutes away) turn in loaner, drive back home......For how long?

Service stabilitrak is a message that came up on my Camaro and then the engine reduce power. I took it to the dealer and they told me the gas pedal needed to be changed because it had shorted out I currently have a Vitesse throttle controller installed and that's what's making my gas pedal short out.

I installed a Vitesse Throttle Controller a little after Christmas and while out driving I got the Engine Power is Reduced. I thought it was a one time occurance but now it does it all the time. Took the Throttle Controller out disconnected the battery over night and still have the problem. Hooked up a Code reader and now showing C0242 and P0601. I'm lost and not sure what to do next. I would have to have it towed to a dealer and I don't want to be charged out the ass for the dealer to say it's this or that and not have the problem fixed. Could someone point me in the right direction. Thanks

I just want to post this here in case anyone else runs into this issue. This thread was helpful to me in getting to the proper fix, so I wanted to share my experience with this issue.
I recently had my stock 2013 SS/RS (55k miles) start giving the "Service Stabillitrak" and "Reduced Engine Power" messages. If I shut the car off and turned it back on, the car would be out of limp mode and just the check engine light would persist. I pulled the codes off and I had two of them: P2138 - Throttle / Pedal Position Sensor / Switch D/E Voltage Correlation P2122 - Throttle / Pedal Position Sensor / Switch D Circuit Low I ordered a new Pedal Assembly (ACDelco Part 22741799) for about $70 and this was very easy to install; perhaps 15 minutes and this solved the issue for me. The hardest part is just not being able to see what you are doing because its dark under the dash. As it has been stated in this thread, it is just 3 bolts (10 mm) and the electrical connector to the pedal. |
