Man lets be honest I love my GTO as much as the next man but come on now. Its a car that GM totally dropped the ball on. The interior was nice yes but nicer then a 2SS Camaro? You have got to be kidding. The leather in the GTO was way harder from the get go, and as far as visuals the dash on the GTO can't compare and then mix in the 4 gauges under the console. Wow I loved my GTO but the only thing I have found that it did better then the Camaro is handle better. I have to admit in the GTO I can take corners at 40 mph without letting off the gas and no feel like I'm slipping. Most def can't do that in the Maro and I have tried, it feels like you will lose control. Also the GTO did have a more distinct sound and was louder and much more roar, but other then that the GTO can't compete and I'm talking overall because performancewise it might be a tie with the Camaro pulling away by just a bit.

We bought our 04 GTO new for $18,200, Where can I buy a Camaro for that? And .9% interest for 3 years, total interest was $130.

the GTO has nicer interior materials. i'm not sure about visuals preference, but i can definetly say i prefer the materials in the GTOs interior. it is one of the nicest aspects of the car. the camaro has a throwback appeal, and i can see the appeal, but i think the quality lies with the GTO. i wish they would have used a similar interior or G8 interior in the camaro, but it probably would have pushed prices up.

Of course, that will probably go to 8 grand next month. Anyway, I drove the G8GT some time ago and liked it a lot. It does not have the "gotta have it" factor like the Camaro but if I really cared about that, I would have bought a Mustang instead of the GTO.

Decisions, decisions
The G8 is a fantastic driving car. It feels smaller and more nimble than it really is. It is easier to drive than the Camaro, due to the better visibility in all directions. Performance wise, the SS is definitely quicker though. I test drove a GXP G8 for an article, it was very similar to my SS in feel and handling. If you need the 4 doors, get the GXP. I'm pleased with the G8 GT though. It doesn't get nearly the gawk factor of the Camaro, but it is arguably the best GM sedan made for the pricetag now. I paid $27K for my G8, MSRP was $34K.
