My situation is that I have not had my own auto policy for the last 3 years because I have had a company leased vehicle through my previous employer (Nielsen Media Research) we had a fleet of vehicles through a lease company. I tried to get quotes through Progressive and Geico and the amount per month for full coverage on the SS1 is around $275 and the V6 is around $220. I have a clean driving record no tickets or accidents and cannot figure out why these quotes are so insane....

Does anyone know how to possibly prove or show that I have had insurance through my company's leased vehicles or am I SOL? This is the only reason I can think these rates are so high unless its because Baltimores insurance rates are this bad.

If I cannot get insurance at a reasonable rate of around $150 a month I am just going to have to drive something else as much as I had my mind set on this car.
Shop around but you will have to pay a higher rate for not having a longer history of being insured. Find the best rate and suck it up for a year then it will begin to drop. Insurance sucks but at least you don't have a teenager you have to pay for.

I don't understand I have had a 10 year history of being insured..... If you are talking about the 3 years that I have not had personal insurance since I had a company vehicle I can understand that but I still dont see how you get
gouged that bad from insurance companies because of that..... I was still driving for those 3 years in fact I did more driving then working with the job I had.

Thank you very much!!! Good to see someone who knows about this!

don't fee bad new orleans here.

1SS with 500.00 deductable
27, credit score 750, no dui's, no accidents, and I have been a customer for almost 6 years.

265.00 a month

Got them to quote me the same vehicle in Chesapeake, VA

91.00 a month

Louisiana is one of the highest insurance states in the country, well a least according to my insurance company.

Pretty lame if you ask me.

lol...well atleast you arent going to get raped like i will...I will be payin 2500 6 months for mine. Apparently...since i am 19...I always speed...commit hit and runs constantly...Drink and Drive all the time...and am involved in multiple car chases weekly. Man I cant wait till i am 25...then I'll stop all these destructive behaviours....but until then...I am going to go drink a 40 and then ghost ride 3 miles in downtown....*extreme sarcasm.

I really hope that insurance companies somehow find a way to lower rates for my age...Its hurting me...Hell...they want 130 a month for just liability.

Why not give me the insane rate....AFTER something happens. When they give me the crazy rates and rape my bank account. Makes no sense to charge me bokou dollars when I have a clean record...been driving for 4 years...and am a safe driver.

BTW...i would kill for a 170 month rate for full coverage.

I am a married homeowner with good grades and a clean record lol

what can I say?

Sounds like good advise. The 3yr laps is what's hurting you.

I think a lot depends on where you live as well... I have NationWide and am paying $360 a month for 3 cars with $ 500 deductible. I don't think the $275 is too outrageous considering the type of car and your age. The cost of insurance is on the rise, it's all part of your TCO of a Camaro.

BTW... Go easy on those P-Zero tires...There like $450 each to replace, myself I'm going to go with Yokohama when that time comes.
