Yes, the entire system is ceramic coated. The outside of the tube will be hot because it is reflecting the heat from the engine bay but inside it is nice and cool. Just like the air box being tested in the images.

My ScanGaugeII has the intake temp usually only 3-5 degrees above the ambient temp, truly a cold air intake.
