For me, what worked was a short burnout to clean off the tires and to get a little heat in them, and launch from dead idle. This got me a 1.74 and a 1.76 60' my first time to the track.

I do maybe a 3 - 4 second burnout, then pull to the line. These cars heat up very quickly so that's another issue I try to avoid. I always try to get in the shortest line if I can't be at the front. Heat kills these cars. I've lost 5 mph on back to back runs.
I have no doubt that on a cool day with nothing more than a set of drag radials, these cars will run 11.6s

I DID ! 2.61 @ 109.75 AT A MILE HIGH HERE IN DENVER . ALTITUDE CORRECTED IS
11.78 @ 117.43....5300 FT. ALTITUDE.

Hi, we met that night. I have the red CTS V coupe....I think we were both heat-soaked on that last pass. I had a good pass earlier that night when the car was cooled down...I ran against the 392 Challenger....air was humid and hot (DA was 3088') but I ran a respectable 12.302 @ 117.19. I was on street tires, I have an AIRAID CAI and a tune. Nice meeting you!
