well since Camaro5 members seem to be the nicest, i think sometime next year we need to have a CAMARO5 car show! Camaro 5 members meet up in some centrally located place and hang out for a weekend, go on rides, play tourist. (im not biased......, but the black hills of SD are great for that!)

I know when I owned a vette every other vette owners always waived and so far ivepassed1 camaro and hewaved I thought that was great. I hope we can all be same way. Heck everyone puts there pants on one leg at a time and we all apparently have the same love in life and that's the camaro. And to all the stuck up pricks who think there better then go to hell! But to anyone who waves to me or wants to ask questions about my car then I welcome them. I don't want to think I'm better than anyone. Just cause in my life I have been blessed to be able to get alot of things I have always wanted I in no way think I'm better than anyone. That's why I'm glad I found this sight cause everyone seems to feel the same way. Got love for the camaro and to this camro5 forum! Thinks guys & gals for having great sight!

as far as i know, we're the only 5th gen locally. i know there's one in a different town, but i have only seen 1 other 5th gen and it was on the interstate (LS) heading into Illinois.

i have that "pissed off" look all the time (so i hear)........but when folks flag me down, yell something or give the thumbs up.......i smile and answer all questions.

it's the Mustang folks and my co-workers that have the attitudes around here.

but on a lighter note - i was driving her home from work 2day and stopped by one of the only co-workers that's happy for us, so his 2 boys (8 and 6) could see it. they've only seen the one on Transformers. the 6 year old was quick to tell his dad it's Cliffjumper not Bumblebee as Bumblebee is yellow. then he politely but excitedly ask me if it drove there itself.... gotta luv the kids!

but anyway, i had way more attention 2day than i have ever gotten in her. i mean every single car had to gaulk at her. i musta had 10 questions asked, two 4 banger verts full of highschoolers braking laws just to get close and at one point.......i stopped at light, glanced in the rear view mirror to catch a guys eyes rolling all over the rear while his lips mouthed "holy fu**ing shit".

I've already posted it on here. But the first CGM SS/RS that I came across. When I complimented their car on the highway, the passenger (female) flipped me off and the driver just laughed.

People in general come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and attitudes. A car will not make a person cool or nice. I have had a lot of attention in mine, I enjoy talking to fellow car lovers. They really freak out when I ask them if they would like to sit in it. Went to a car show the other night, and a lot of people have not seen a new Camaro yet, who am I to deny them. The same thing happens in my '69, why have a cool car if you cant show it off?

Swell idea!..maybe the moderators can start planning one, so people can put their vacations in. Hopefully, many members will have theirs in by then(mine included)..

i was dropping my son off to ref a game, and saw a dude sitting in one. i his window was down, i was 20 feet from him, so i sauntered over and said "great car man, can't wait til mine shows up...." he says....SURRRREEEE you ordered one---dressed like that, as he rollz up his window. what a douche. i was just painting some parts, and kinda looked rough, but no excuse to be a knob. so i sauntered back the other way, and jumped in my 09 escalade......and drove away as i flipped him the bird.

I have never owned a new car and definitely not a hot car. I have always believed in buying a car 2-3 years old due to the depreciation. I am 40 years old and my youngest son is a Senior in high school. Back when I saw the concept Camaro I started to get a bit giddy. Once They announced that there would be a 2010 Camaro, I really started getting the fever. I did not put my order in until shortly after Thanksgiving and I never told my wife about the passion I had for this car. This passion began after I saw the 1980's movie "Better Off Dead." I know not everyone has seen it, but there was a 1969 Black Camaro in the movie and it was absolutely the sexiest car I have ever laid my eyes on. When I saw the 2006 Concept pics of the Camaro, the desire grew and all I could think about was this car. I was having trouble sleeping once pre-ordering began and I finally told my wife about my passion for this car. Without hesitation, she said "You have worked hard all your life and now it is time for you to do something for yourself. A couple days later my order was placed. I did not buy this car for attention, but for its beauty. I have no problem answering ?'s or even letting curious strangers get a better look or even sit in my car. I want to share the joy that this car has brought to me. I think in a few years, I might have to purchase a 1969 Camaro as well.

I know 1 female owner, have known her all of her young life, she's a neighbor, her parents paid $9k over sticker for her 2SS IOM manual and while she presents as normal to me I'm hearing that she's been putting her nose up to lesser mortals and getting ripped by her peerage. (some of whom are as well situated as this young lady)

I'd say it's a continuing societal curiosity. There has always been friction built-in to 'class' differences. Always been internal strife within peer groupings. I don't think that the Camaro has changed her at all. She is as I've always known her. She's kind, considerate and used to pal around with my daughter until said daughter married and moved away. They still visit each other as the situation permits. The perceptions of the young woman have been altered, imo, by the ownership of that gaudy (tastefully so though) Camaro.
