that's the exact thing the guy told me they would use, but I still want them to redo the paint, I was very unsatisfied with the pics I posted above

I would have replaced the bumper. Was there any damage behind the bumper where the dent was. I think there was internal damage and that is why there is a dent on the side, From the compression/impact of the branch. I personally hate patch jobs, but that is just me and my two cents.

so you're saying the guy sloppily filled your hole?

I really thought this thread was going to be about something much happier....

A shop can fill it and repair it. Couple hundred bucks at least.

Honestly dont know if they would use fiberglass or plastic as the backing, then a filler like bondo, scuff the area or the rest of the bumper, shoot some color, then clear the whole thing.

So you can def see some extra orange peel compared to factory. It needs to be compounded and polished for that.

As for the "runs" in the clear, will probably need wet sanding, if there isnt enough clear to work with in the area of the runs, might have to respray.

Either way, it all needs to be compounded and polished more to get it to match factory.

Well if you really wanted to be cheap, you could have put mounting tape behind it and filled her up with touchup paint! true story

Sorry man. Hope they fix it for you correctly. I agree that they probably need to wet sand and re-clear coat and then wet sand again for the dent. Regarding the hole they probably need to add compound and then sand to fill the areas and then paint and clear coat. If they are friends of your father hopefully they will recognize that the work wasn't right and make it right.

Good Luck.
