I've been pulled over before in previous cars for no front plate. It always seems to happen in groups, like some bigwig puts out a message every so often to start enforcing it. For me it's been the state troopers more often than not who care about it.

I guess I am just one of those people who thinks the law is the law and it doesn't matter if it is a $25 ticket I have better things to spend my money on that a traffic ticket. My dealership already put the front bracket on there because the law says there has to be a plate. I just put my LSU plate up there while I have temp tags and if the law passes that says you don't need a front plate anymore I will either put my USMC, POW/MIA or LSU plate back up there. I saw a black SS with the new Blue looking Texas plate on the front and it didn't look horrible. I just don't understand someone willfully breaking the law but to each his own.

Just HATE the idea of drilling holes in the bumper. I know it's the law here but it's a stupid and impractical one. I'm going to try to work around it for as long as possible. It'd be interesting to find out if any lawmakers here own camaros and see how they feel about it...

We're required to have them here in WA, too. The Legislature has proposed removing the front plate requirement, but the State Patrol has resisted. They claim they are revenue-neutral (we have to pay for the plates, after all). The Patrol also likes them because they use them as the TARGET for their laser speed guns. Oh...we also have to pay to replace the plates every 5 years because the reflective properties wear out over time.
I've never had one on my Corvette and have not been ticketed, even though I've been pulled over twice (no tickets at all issued). When I get my Camaro, I'll probably go with the factory bracket mounted without screws (if the dealer doesn't hose me). Rob |

there are more than one way to skin a cat, there are ways to install the front plate WITHOUT drilling any holes, there a couple of threads on this very subject.

No Front Plates
I am not going to let the dealer put them on either.
I'll pay the ticket too. The Camaro (when I get it) will be a toy and not a daily driver so it cuts the chances a little I hope. But then I do live in the county seat DPS, Sheriff, City Cops everywhere I'm surrounded

2010 Camaro retractable front license plate holder. With this retractable plate holder you can hide your ugly front plate within seconds, simply fold it down and stow away. If your on the road just pull it out and flip it up, no more tickets and no more hassle from the authorities. Installation requires just two small holes to be drilled under the front bumper or double sided tape. Adjust up or down in less than 3 seconds!
We currently do not have any other pictures on the Camaro except for the one above. Here is what the frame looks like while folded down, mounted on a Corvette. Available here: http://rpidesigns.com/shop/item.asp?itemid=1672 ![]() Shown folded down on a Corvette:
