I'm looking at DarkCry956's set up, or for that matter the one in tkrupinski's post. Can he, or anyone else, tell me where I can get the adapter that he is using between the supercharger and air filter? I have the V7 and am currently using the Vortech intake ducting. I am wanting to try a rear mounted air filter and see if any gains are to had.

If you get a K&N filter with a 4" opening, it will fit perfectly on the blower inlet. I know autozone sells them. I ran my filter on the inlet with no adapter and didn't have any issues making power.

I have the four inch filter now from the Jannetty upgrade kit. I know that it will fit directly onto the compressor, but like you, I find the extension better looking, and it will give me a place for the PCV fitting. Maybe it will also get the filter a little farther away from the headers.
Does anyone have any before and after power numbers using the Vortech ducting VS rear mount filters? |

Yes, someone tested the tube vs just the filter. My Paxton 1500 has a 3 3/4" inlet so my 4" filter on my tube wont work but I will buy another K&N for this purpose.

Have any of you run into problems with high IATs?
I ran the Texas mile last October and the conditions were miserable, right around 90 degree's and 90% humidity. I had intake air temps right right around 185 degrees F, and my coolant temps were increasing also. Computer pulled a bunch of timing. My V7 is maxed out at 65,000 rpm on an LSX 429 and was only making about 16lbs boost in those conditions. Part of my reason for moving the filter to the rear is to get it away from the intercooler. I am thinking of trying one of the CO2 intercooler coolers. I don't want to ingest CO2. |

There is always meth. I spun my ysi to 70k. Many people on yellowbullet spin it that high or higher without ill effect. Vortech says it is the most forgiving blower they have. Without knowing your combo you might be at the door of diminishing returns too
