2000-2005 Monte Carlo LS, which is the base car, came with a 180 hp 3.4 V-6.
This combo is perfect for a new driver.

A new driver should not have a high horsepower cars for their first car. Many of us on this board can tell you many stories of young kids who have either seriously hurt themselves or killed themselves because they lacked the experience and respect of driving a performance vehicle.
Numerous studies have shown young age and high horsepower is not a good mix.

I completely understand I already know that I will attempt to go fast but I have my limits because I don't want to die. I have a 4.2 GPA in the 9th grade so I have a little smarts

I'm 6'1" and I fit fine in my Challenger.
I fit fine in my Solstice, too.

That's awesome that you've got great grades I applaud that.

But keep in mind, any car you get will become a distraction to you. Especially a cool car. I lived it. I saw it. It just is.

And book smarts is not equal to common sense. I'm sorry, but children just don't have the life experiences to make good choices. When you're driving down a 2 lane country road with your friends in the car, and they're pressuring you to go faster, you will make the wrong decision to go faster and put you and your passengers at risk for serious injury or death.
You don't think of the consequences of what could happen. How could you? You don't even know what the consequences are.
Nor do you have any experience at handling a car above speed limits or any idea of vehicle dynamics. It's not your fault. It's just something you learn over time.

I'm sorry, but a Camaro or Challenger is a bad choice for a child. Period.

Go test a Cruze. See if you fit. Nice car for a little sedan.
