What are you talking about??? I never knocked the product. I just said I saw no gains with mine at the track. Unlike some folks who mod their cars, I run my car if I make a change. I try to document everything I can, including weather conditions, to keep things fair. Seat of the pants can be very deceiving. Personally I like the intake. I'm not selling mine...yet.

....since introducing my Roto-fab CAI to my ZL1 it pulls harder in third gear and has a crisper throttle response all around. It's noticeable. Good product, and a good DIY package.

I have the K&N CAI, I love it. You can check it out in my build thread. Prices jumped up since it first came out though.

Don't know. Happy with mine. Easy and enjoyable install, I took my time so it was more like an hour, hour and a half, rather than the 30 minutes the directions say.
Instantly, upon starting the vehicle, I got that increase in whine from the supercharger that I guess should be associated with any CAI, made me giggle a little like a school girl. But I cannont remember specific gains, but I definitely put up a better time at the 1/8 after install, and that is without a tune. I think I gained about .2 seconds after the Rotofab, and then I did headers, still no tune, and picked up another .2 seconds. So started around 8.6? stock, and now I can throw a 8.23 at that drag strip, again that's 1/8th mile with no tune, stock tires. I can't even say my overall experience with Rotofab has been positive, that would imply something was wrong. Nope, everything about it is good. Easy install, looks good, sounds good, performs well. Nuff Said

So what is th difference between the RotoFab and CAI? About equal in terms of improvement, visceral experience, looks? Both TUNE FREE?
I see the CAI looks like it has a clear window over it. don't give a flip about that. So... anyone..... difference?

Wow, I ran a 7.78 100% stock with a 1.68 60' . And with a Airaid CAI, 90mm ported tb, and 10% lower and tune. A 7.55 and a 1.62 60' in the 1/8 mi. A6 dyno'd at 550 rwhp 539 rwtq. No heat issues after multiple runs. |

Looks like there is some of the difference. Heard a lot of people say I should break 8 flat, but frankly after close to 100 runs over several months. I feel I have my ability dialed in, in that car at that track. I've never broken 2 flat on the 60 foot either. But they prep the track, not sure how well, it's just a $5 test and tune. Didn't do a stock Dyno, but after the Rotofab and before the headers I did it at Vengeance Racing, Cumming GA, whatever kind of Dyno that is showed 511hp on the first run and 515 on the second, but torque dropped off a lot on the second on from heat.

Performance wise, probably not much. Rotofab does have a port for a dual valve catch can. The CAI uses a lid to seal off under hood air rather than relying on a hood seal. The biggest thing for me is that I don't give a flip about tracking, but do a number of car shows. You just can't do this with an open top system.
