Would love to see a department that can afford SRT Chargers....
Several departments up here have Chargers but they are having a lot of mechanical issues with them so the new trend is going with the Ford SHO for traffic units and SEL's for standard patrol. Ford Explorer's also have a strong following but most marked vehicles in Alaska are either Crown Vics or Impala's.. I have to laugh when people think a "police package" vehicle includes an engine that will do mach. Engines and handling are no different than a civilian version in most cases. As many have said, you can't outrun radio.. Yes, a stock SS would beat a stock Charger, sans driving skill. A stock SS would beat almost any popo vehicle up here...in the summer months that is. |

the police department in my town outside atlanta has a hemi v8 charger and a mustang gt. then there are a few v6 chargers and some older crown victorias (guess they drew the short straw).

I would have put down the window and yelled at him "No, I don't want to race, already know I would win, go find a VTEC". Then put the window back up.
