On my way home from picking up my '95 Vette I stopped at a rest stop, popped the hood to check the oil, etc. The Vette has a unique hood prop that requires you to pull the prop at a certain angle to get it to collapse.
I didn't know that.
After trying to get the damn thing down for about 20 minutes I was starting to panic - it was also getting dark and I couldn't find anything in the owners manual in my panic state.
Now how the hell was I going to drive? On the shoulder of the interstate until I found a gas station - yea, right not in this lifetime!
In a fit of anger I slammed my hand at the prop....it moved in the right direction and the problem was solved. Every time I look under the hood I laugh to myself.
Sometimes the obvious ain't so obvious!

LOL ! I had the same problem with my wife's Tahoe... then I complained to her about it and she laughed at me and told me to push on the damned thing...

So I was used to the GM gas door when we got the Camaro ... thank goodness ...

i had an audi a4 on which gas door will open and lock with keyfob open and lock..that helps saving gas from theives
