I went from SW GA to upstate NY and back, about 2,800 miles total and averaged 23.8 doing 85% interstate speeds (70-75). The rest was state roads and maybe 200 miles of in-town.

When I started out, I filled up and reset the MPG calculator on the DIC and never touched it again until I got back home. I was pretty pleased with results.

That kind of gives you a false average "per trip". If you make the same trip again and drive the same way, only resetting at the start of your trip and checking MPGs at the end, you will see your mileage go down.

I see your point which is true. I just have habit of resetting each time I fill up.

On the trip from DFW to Georgetown with traffic in Waco for about 20 minutes, I averaged 26.1. This is after a tune and AFM turned off. It is entirely possible if his tires are at the right pressure, alignment is perfect, heat, humidity and wind speed+direction, and depending on the pavement driven. Most roads here are concrete, which seems to have less frictional resistance than say regular Tarmac or Asphalt.

I don't think the DIC mpg is totally correct. I have done the actual math after filling up and compared it to the DIC and they are not the same.

I just did the math. The just drove 432 miles on 16 gallons of fuel. Which came out to 27mpg. So yes the DIC is off

Every time I actually do the math, it comes out about 3 mpg less than what the DIC says.

Most of the time when I'm back home I average 18mpg. So I'm enjoying this.

My average is about 19.5-19.8 with a good mx of driving. My 98 TA M6 definitely did better.

But it wasn't quite as much fun.

^this. You guys put too much stock in the on board calculator. Record mileage and gallons pumped between tank fulls then use a calculator. Or better yet, Use subtraction and long division with a pencil and paper, lol. Only way to get a true representation. For those who don't know how to do this:
1 Fill tank
2 Write down miles on odometer.
3 Drive till tank is almost empty then fill up again.
4 Record gallons pumped and miles on odometer.
5 Subtract miles from step 2 from miles on step 4.
6 Divide result by gallons pumped. This is as close as you're going to get.

You're welcome

You must not have driven through Texas at any point in your life! :P

I'm kidding, I'm always surprised how long it takes folks to get across the northern states since they're so small compared to Texas. I tell ya what, I always hate having to drive 9 hours to visit family for Thanksgiving and then 7-10 hours to visit my girls family for Christmas...thank goodness she has a truck we take because I don't think I could handle putting them kinds of miles on the Camaro.
