If you dislike beauty, form, power, handling, and admiration, you'll dislike your Camaro.

I've actually had more chicks comment on my car than dudes. First time I pulled in my driveway a decent looking chick that was out walking her dog said she really liked my car. Guess I just got off to a good start BUT stupid me just said "thanks, I just got it a few hours ago actually" instead of "go drop your dog off inside and I'll take you for a ride".

Hype before getting the Camaro? You ain't seen hype until after you get your Camaro. Trust me, the excitement ride just begins when you first pull on to a highway and go!

OK ...we all know I'm prejudiced.........

...but I've had a stupid amount of company cars over the past thirty two years at GM. (.....I started when I was three....... )

There are some cars (and trucks) that I COULD NOT WAIT to get out of......

And then there are those that I wish I'd somehow managed to 'keep'.....

.....a '78 Z28 in yellow with the gold 'turbine' wheels........

........a particularly beautiful 1982 Monte Carlo with a T-roof..........

...............a Black on Black on Gray '79 Caprice. (this was the predecessor to the 'Dreaded Black Suburbans'

...........many Corvettes, Firebirds, and Camaros.........

..........a particular 1992 Z28 convert -- white with Red rally stripes and red leather interior -- took it on vacation -have never forgotten it........

..........my first 1997 Camaro 30th Anniversary Convert.........

............my first 2002 Camaro 35th Anniversary Convert............

.......a Black Escalade ESV.......... (.....even BETTER than a Black Suburban...)

......curiously, a DTS Sedan last summer -- Dang that was a nice car -- quiet, fast, comfortable for long trips.............

And then there's 'Thor' --

Most of you are probably tired of hearing about Thor -- but I gotta tell you -- in 12,000 miles -- I've not stopped grinning.

I find myself AVOIDING yard work and house chores -- so that I can start him up -- turn on his halos -- and drive up along Lake St. Clair -- or cruise Woodward or Gratiot...........

..........and, for those of you driving a new Camaro -- you already know that the new Camaro stops traffic..........regardless of age, people just stop and stare and grin and ask all kinds of questions.

To wit: Last evening on Jefferson avenue - -I'm refuelling him -- and a very attractive early 30-something says to me (from across the tanks...) "Is THAT the new CAMARO???" -- I replied "yup!" .....and she just went nuts over Thor..........

So.........do I regret this car or get tired of him or am I disappointed?

HECK, NO!!!!

It almost scares me when I realize the attachment I have to Thor..........

(....did I mention that I just beam when I read how you love your Camaros???)

No way. Love it. I do, however, have to listen to my two sons constantly bugging me for a chance to drive it. I finally let my oldest take it out by himself. He's driven with me riding in the car many times for last 2 months. I told him I had called OnStar and alerted them that he was going to be driving it and that they would be monitoring his speed and acceleration so that if he did anything wrong they would call me at home.

Don't tell..............

If I ever get mine, I will let you know........ right now, I am disappointed that I ever made the decision to preorder.......... 9 months and counting now.

I sincerely hope the excitement is renewed when I get the call to go to pick up my Camaro. Right now, my let-down meter is just about pegged and my give-a-s**t meter is just about bottomed out. I have just about broke my keyboard a few times reading about those who are only waiting 6 weeks or so from order to pick-up on a Camaro almost identical to the one I ordered.

I have considered just walking away from this whole frustrating mess several times already. This latest QC hold has me teetering on the edge.:(
